Decent little design by John Houck. This is totally a rec course that isn't that long but is a heavy wooded course with small hills and valley's.

Block House district has done a decent job on the upkeep of this course. The fairways are clear, the tree's are trimmed and you do have mulch covering most of what would be muddy spots.

It's a technical course that you DO NOT want to kick off into the rough or you are going to have a bad day.

As per most of John Houck courses, every hole is unique. He always find some great lines and fun holes to throw.

There is even a practice basket under a very shady tree.

Would I play here again? Yes, I would love to play another quick round here. I actually almost did as I had some time to play the day I played it.

-great terrain with scrubby woods, mild but well-utilized elevation changes, and creeks
-discatchers, concrete tees, Houck signage
-next tee signs where needed, easy navigation
-fun holes with challenging wooded lines
-most of the course is woodchipped so not too muddy even in wet conditions
-course map next to hole 1
-practice basket (in a weird spot though)
-benches on multiple holes

-tee signs missing on the first two holes, you can see the baskets but knowing the length would be nice
-a challenging track for beginners, people from the neighborhood trying it out may be frustrated on a few holes
-the practice basket is near a fence under the canopy of a large tree, not very useful in it's current location
-minimal parking but shouldn't be an issue at this private course

I had played the previous, now extinct course in the Block House Creek subdivision and this course is a huge improvement for disc golfers, but maybe not for residents looking for an easy rec experience. The old course was a park style course that had to share a small space with other park users but Jumano is almost DG exclusive, only sharing the space with a few walking trails that are not in play on any fairway.

The course is almost entirely wooded and also features a small creek (holes 1, 3, 9), a larger creek (hole 4), and a few mild but well-used elevation changes. The woodchipped fairways look great and keep the course from getting too muddy. Hopefully it stays maintained. The holes are primarily tunnel shots of varying widths and a subtle bend somewhere in the fairway or at the green. Hole 3 is a fun little ace run over the smaller, shallower creek. Hole 4 has a larger, deeper creek off to the left. There is a tree line between the creek and the fairway but it's not so dense that a bad kick couldn't find its way through and into the water. That would be a tough retrieval. I also really liked the great oak trees on hole 7. There is a huge one in the center of the fairway to avoid and more around the green with amazing branches that frame the basket. The holes are mostly on the shorter side but are wooded enough that they are not gimme birdies, even for experienced players. Holes 4, 5, and 9 offer the toughest lines.

I would be extremely excited to have this course in my neighborhood. It is fun, challenging, and has all the usual Houck finishes. For my preference, this course is very good and I am tempted to give it a 3.5 but I think there is not quite enough variety to warrant it. It's a strong 3.25 though. I haven't played Benbrook Park yet but this course is the 2nd best in Leander behind Wilco and joins Brushy Creek Sports Park and Davis Spring as legit, must-play 9 holers in the North Austin area.
