Yeah, I believe in dominance issues, and crossed relationships. E.g., I'm usually right eye dominant but for whatever reason my dominance drifted to my left eye when throwing backhand, which contributes to my head rushing ahead somewhat.
I also found a lot of kinetic connections to boxing, but...
I'm sure you've seen these before but might help get things cooking.
This one is great of course and is just a repeating X-step in good posture.
I warmup by making this thing "hoppier" and just get more vertical to get my legs warmed up and springier than they usually are. I also do...
Yes, I actually do this as part of my warmup forward, backwards, and sideways and for me it makes a big difference from the very first throw. People use it in baseball warmups often too!
My hop is pretty vertical, so I just wanted to mention that some people seem to think that you can't downtempo a hop or that you're somehow fundamentally out of control. I would say it just means you haven't learned how to balance a hop yet. You should be able to slow even a quite vertical hop...
Hershyzer - in addition to his last tips, need to focus on coming off the rear foot instep.
I'm not sure you are fully "presetting the booty," which is what he last showed in post 187 and why his pelvis is sloped more up toward the ceiling/sky.
I had to start at this guy's butt for a while and...
Interesting - so you're very positive ape index, but don't really identify as quick twitch or coordinated. I wouldn't be surprised if hands on instruction from good people has a large effect when applied well. You also seem to have a passion and work ethic.
I think Weissman had replied to you...
Subjectively the one "4 5 0 2" I had was on the domey side and it felt noticeably different in my hand. Might have also influenced how I was throwing it a bit.
I'm interested in this Jawbreaker because I've never actually thrown that plastic.
I guess from a lot of field testing all the Big...
You'll hear different opinions. Lots of muscles are involved in a reciprocal motion so people get understandably confused. Some of them are stabilizers, some of them are workhorses. There's a bit of real variability among far throwers IMHO.
Learn to copy Gibson's little drill move there...
I'm drinking some wine, with ya bud.
Thank you for sharing all that context, I feel like I don't hear enough of these stories and I like them. I'm visualizing what you are describing and I think your connection to momentum and the time in the gym makes a lot of intuitive sense to me. I didn't...
Hmm. On the main forum Weissman is speculating about brain feedback loops as we age - body protecting itself. He seems to suggest that you can counteract that effect, though I'm not seeing how he thinks about that yet. I'll be curious about your own take on that. What do you think?
Insofar as...
I might not worry so much per se, but it definitely is a weird thing to learn for a lot of people. I had to do a lot of things with other objects to get remotely close to it for disc golf. Slashes, hammer hits and throws, punches, chops, little weird "pull/swing" motions emphasizing smooth but...
Can anyone report back on how they like it? I've never tried a Jawbreaker.
Since I'm suddenly and happily back to "all Comets all the time," hivemind question:
what is currently the most stable Comet one can currently buy? I lost one that was so surprisingly OS (for a Comet) I swear it was...
It turns out it was inevitable!
I am no longer going to pretend I like other midranges anywhere as much as I like Comets. It's almost all woods right around me anyway, so Comet fest it is!!!
This is interesting/validating.
One of the best things I did recently was just play long toss...
Practice round journal
Might as well put these back-to-back. I'm continuing to focus on turning my recent learning into practical golf.
TL;DR Comets are here to stay.
Local Comet-only round (including putts lol) with the baby as witness. They're so shapeable and responsive at every range that...
