Maymont is a 100 acre Victorian estate located in Richmond, Virginia. It contains Maymont Mansion, a historic house museum, an arboretum, formal gardens, native wildlife exhibits, a nature center, carriage collection, and petting zoo known as "The Maymont Children's Farm".
Annually since 1983 the Maymont Open has been hosted here. Typically held in the fall to winter months this tournaments proceeds go to the Maymont Foundation. The course plays through out this gorgeous park of well groomed rolling hills and beautiful river views. Having started in 83 this course has been established with lots of fun objects and in recent years has started to swap some for temp baskets. Winners of the tourney take home the revolving Buffalo trophy.
The course is only marked once a year for the tournament. Please use extreme caution if you decide to play this course anytime other then the annual fundraiser as it is not an offical park feature and it plays through many common areas. The best time to experience this course is during the winter months when park goers are at a minimium.
