Short and Fun Campus Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 26, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Beginner friendly course on a manicured college campus.
-Good mix of open and moderately wooded holes with some decent elevation changes.
-Highly visible tee signs and no navigation issues.
-While this course will play fast and easy for experienced players, it does offer enough to keep holes interesting while providing options off the tees.
-No chance of losing a disc herehere and there is minimal punishment for errant throws.
-Most holes make for some fun ace runs.
-Overall, this is a great setting and course to introduce new players to disc golf.

Cons:

-Not that it's a huge con, but most of the holes are under 300' and only require a putter or midrange from the tee.
-Monkey Trap baskets. They are just as bad, if not more so, than Mach 3s.
-Rubber tees that are lumpy and not level on a good portion of the holes. They aren't too much of a problem with the short nature of the holes.
-No alternate tees or pin placements.

Other Thoughts:

While this course isn't very challenging, it is still a fun course to get a quick round in and work on the short game. I played 18 holes with my 10 year old and it took us about 75 minutes to get through it. The campus provides an excellent setting and there seems to be a lot more land that could be used to add another advanced/championship level course. There is a lot of potential here to be home to an amazing course. This is definitely worth the stop to play if you are in the Mountain Home area.

Fun beginner course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 9, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- New course on well-kept college campus facility
- Located within the city limits
- Variety of open and moderately wooded holes
- Practice putting basket
- Love the green and blue basket color

Cons:

- Rubber mats used for tee mats leave much to be desired
- no signage, benches, trash cans, etc (yet) at tee box
- no alternate tees
- no public or after hours restroom/ water fountain

Other Thoughts:

Exciting to have a course like this to introduce the sport to the community. Hopefully more traffic on the course will allow the college to make tweaks to improve the overall experience.
