Pros:
-good hole lengths for beginners
-fairly easy to navigate
-well maintained, quiet city park
-new black hole portal baskets
-not going to be crowded... just watch for dog walkers
-mix of open holes as well as wooded holes
Cons:
-no tee pads (grass gets muddy/slick during rainy season)
-hole 3 and 4 as well as 6 and 7 play directly parallel to each other, but likely not a con as I doubt it ever gets busy
Other Thoughts:
Aurora, Oregon is a small town of 1000 folks and known for its many antique shops and national historic district- in fact, it's Oregon's first national historic district, dating back to the mid 1800's.
I personally think instead of brand new MVP black hole portal baskets, the targets in the park should either be old rusted out DGA mach one's, trees with spray painted targets, or perhaps peach baskets.
I can't add much to what the Valkyrie Kid already said, so I won't write much. The course plays nicely as long as there is no activity in the park, such as a baseball game, or dog walkers in the field. And if there happens to be a birthday party in the picnic shelters, I could totally see an errant disc landing in the cake and making a 7 year old cry.
I really like the big leaf maples and tall evergreens where holes 6-9 play.
It's a nice course to drop by if you're in the area, or don't have the time for the longer 18 over at Champoeg state park.
