Great Beginner Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 13, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The fairways are a great length for beginners. Trees and growth (especially in Summer) provide enough challenge to force technical shots for intermediate players. Nice park and ample parking space (except for softball days) make an overall excellent course experience.

Cons:

Several holes (especially towards the back 9/north end of the course) tend to hold water. Tee pads/launch areas are natural/dirt and get muddy and hard to throw from. On softball days, players have to be careful and watch for passing cars and people walking.

Other Thoughts:

I've thoroughly enjoyed playing this course, especially after comparing the experience to the old layout. This is a great course to introduce people to disc golf with. It is not an extremely long course but still has the aesthetics of trees and fairway shape where a challenge can certainly be felt.

Not quite great, but very good 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 22, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

18 Holes.
Good flow through course.
Excellent baskets.
Good mix of throws to make.
Plenty of birdie chances for better players.
Short enough for beginners to have some chances at par.
Enough trees to offer some challenge.
Not many places to lose discs.

Cons:

Natural tee pads can get a bit worn down. Concrete pads would be a great addition.
Muddy and wet in spots after big rains.
No real long holes.
A few areas where you'll need to watch for walkers and others in the park.

Other Thoughts:

This is a fun course and one I'll add to my regular rotation as it is within a thirty minute drive from my house. It is worth a drive from Houston to come out and play. You can also hit up another course in Lake Jackson when you come out here.

Fun Rec Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 7, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well maintained course through an old pecan orchard.
Nice layout.
Tight but forgiving lines.

Cons:

Dirt tee pads.
Not much of a challenge for more advanced players.
Too short.
Black hole baskets.
The signage is poor, because it is a new layout. Fortunately the Udisc layout has been updated.
#9 is an accident ready to happen. It is a straight 221' shot with a busy street less than 20' directly behind the basket. My drive went into the street, and I'm sure plenty of others will too. The club needs to rethink this one before somebody gets hurt.

Other Thoughts:

This is a nice county park course. It may have some short comings, but it was fun to play. I'll be back!
