Pros:
During the season there are so many amenities that I missed out on by visiting out of season. facilities re-open in April.
Navigation is relatively easy.
a couple of very well thought out holes. The water hazards have a good risk verse reward element that does not penalize players too much for playing it safe.
Holes 2 and 4 had some concrete for the tees.
Hole 9 is an excellent signature hole.
Hole 14 gives many options for risk when deciding how to tackle the water. There is a fair method for all skill levels.
If I had to travel to Brockport for a sporting event with my child, I would gladly stay here and enjoy this course again. There was an arcade, restaurant, store, bounce pillow, and much more. During the season you can rent golf carts to add to the fun.
I was told it was pay-to-play. I arrived to see a CLOSED FOR THE SEASON sign. I will never sneak on to a course and play it, so I searched for 20 minutes and I spoke to one of the people in charge and they said, "The disc golf is free, enjoy"
Ronald Pierce did a great job working with the available land. There was only one safety issue. Near hole 18 there appeared to be a hook up spot. I do not know if it is ever used, but if it were, it would be dangerous for hole 18.
Cons:
Tee signs are simply a number and distance and tee pads are natural pads that were too slick and muddy on my visit.
I felt I was using the same driver performing the same drive on many of the holes.
Arrows on the baskets are normally a plus, but these baskets spin, so the arrows do not point the right way and cause confusion.
Other Thoughts:
Hole 1: starts 312' uphill and fades to the left with 2 guardian trees.
Hole 2 is 235' straight with the basket tucked under the trees.
Hole 3 279' straight and open.
Hole 4 was a nice long 388' bomb shot. small pond to the right provides a miniscule risk.
Hole 5 throws over a hill 227 feet. There is another basket visible from the tee that could cause confusion, but during the walk to the tee you see the correct basket before arriving at the tee.
Hole 6 has very little clear path to throw. The safest and most obvious path is to throw over the OB and have it drop hard to the right with a RHFH or RHBH Anny. Basket sits 310 feet away.
Hole 7 is mostly open 268 feet with a semi-low ceiling on the right. A tree prevents you from a laser drive, you must curve subtly to the right.
Hole 8 is a subtle dogleg left that is mostly open after the 2 trees near the tee.
Hole 9; possibly the best hole on the course. It is a 336' downhill throw with water running right through the middle causing the perfect amount of anxiety.
Hole 10: 245' with tall brush on both sides.
Hole 11: 247' basket under 2 trees. I believe this hole the branches came down very low making puts outside of 30 feet nearly impossible.
Hole 12: 262' with a row of trees and a downhill slope on the left. basket finishes to the left.
Hole 13: 302' over water. Trees make the initial drive pretty tight.
Hole 14 has you tempt fate a second time throwing back over the water, however the options to what degree you want to play it safe are much more varied for different skills.
Hole 15: 303' uphill into the trees.
Hole 16: says 229. it is straight and downhill, but it played more like 270. I did not measure the hole to claim the distance is incorrect.
Hole 17 had 2 potential paths, but the right hand path fading to the left was a much more accessible path. Trees prevent most throwers from going too high.
Hole 18 was kind of an anti-climactic end with a 259 foot potential ace run.
