Pros:
Challenges/Pros:
• Mature trees clustered together and/or with some low hanging branches increase difficulty on multiple holes.
• Nice mixture of holes favoring both forehand and backhand drives including some longer nearly wide open drives with pins sheltered somewhat by trees.
• Good cement pads and signage.
• Pedestrian walkways affect some fairways so take care to avoid people.
• Wind can sometimes significantly affect play difficulty.
Cons:
Opportunities for Improvement:
• Moving the one pin (#2 I think) up out of its prior location may have been an error as it was more challenging where it was originally.
• Signage should be improved to guide players from pins to the next tee box i.e. #8 to #9, in particular.
Other Thoughts:
Perspective: Intermediate level, Master's 60+ player with low to intermediate arm strength.
Course Details/Info:
• 9-hole course plays around the periphery of North Bloomington Park.
• A paved walking path borders and crisscrosses portions of the moderately wooded course.
• The 1st tee box is to your left as you park in the small parking lot.
• Course is organized in a somewhat figure-of-eight fashion.
Summary of Rating/Play:
• Very appropriate for Masters 50-60+, beginners, intermediate adults, younger players particularly if one wants to work on curving drives, tight fairway drives, approach shots, and putting.
• Probably the best overall course in the St. George area (except for the Pro-level courses in Cedar City) although you do have to watch out for pedestrians.
• Overall, I would rate this as a "4" course.
Big thank you to the Boy Scouts for their hard work!
