Pros:

Bohemian Cattle Co. is a working cattle farm that opened up for agritourism. Along with Disc Golf there is nearby camping, hiking, bike trails, fishing, and gold panning. Most importantly the farm also has a restaurant and bar known as The Back Porch with fresh served food. The course itself weaves through the back of the farm, mostly through a few electrical rows. It has gravel tee pads and DISCatcher baskets. The tee signs are incredible with colorful hole maps, par, distance, and elevation gain/loss.

Upon arrival you must check in, sign a waiver, and pay for your round of disc golf. Though, I was surprisingly not charged to play. Despite my efforts.

The course itself is mostly open shots, with a handful of wooded holes mixed in. The course utilizes terrain very well. Most holes have some form of serious elevation gain or loss. Others that have more subtle elevation gain/loss still play over a ridgeline where the basket is still blind from the tee.

Some of the greens do a good job with risk/reward. Holes 4 & 17 finish next to a deep ravine in the electrical row. Hole 7 finishes perched near some boulders with a steep drop off. Holes 8 & 9 finish next to a creek. The creek isn't deep at all around Hole 8, but there is a somewhat deep pool in it next to Hol 9's basket. Hole 18 is on a raised peninsula green after a water carry.

Holes 12 through 14 are the true wooded holes on the course. At the tee for Hole 12 there was an igloo cooler with water bottles. This was a very nice touch on a course that doesn't loop back to the parking lot until you finish.

A few of the holes truly stand out from the rest.

Hole 1, for instance, is one of the most fun opening holes of disc golf I have ever played. You tee off from essentially a cliff, down a wooded gap over a creek. You then walk the long way around to get to the basket. Bohemian Cattle Co. definitely starts on a high note.

Hole 11 is a fun, wide open shot with some serious elevation gain.

Hole 12 starts out the wooded section of holes with an amazing downhill hyzer shot through a tight gap in the trees.

Hole 15 is a sweet downhill bomber shot where you can get full flight out of your disc. If you have a big arm, you would be able to overthrow this hole pretty easily, but it is still a blast to play. Thankfully this was one of the better maintained holes on the property. It would have been a tragedy to have to lay this one up.

Cons:

The most sickening thing I have to type here, is that the future of the course seems up in the air. Apparently a battle between Bohemian Cattle Co. and the State is being waged to see if they will be able to continue their agritourism operations. Last week they posted a video saying they may have to stop serving food at the end of September. I am not sure if this place would survive without that kitchen. Honestly, my mouth is still watering from just the memory of the smell.

The course suffers from a lot of new course woes. It is less than two months old. The grass is overgrown in the fairways, and is clearly still weeds and thick stalks from when this was an overgrown electrical row. This also lends the rough to being very thick and full of thorns. Make sure you stay as close to the fairways as possible here.

The gravel tees are somewhat horrid. Some of them are okay. Some of them barely exist at all. Hole 16's was a 3'x3' square. These would need work.

The tee sign for Hole 7 is clearly wrong, listing the hole as sub 200' when it is over 400'.

Now while some of the holes on the course could be signature holes on almost any course, some are just awkward/feel like filler.

Hole 4 is just two awkward layup shots for a free look at birdie.

Holes 4 & 5 share fairway space. Hole 4's tee is aimed directly at Hole 5's fairway.

Holes 8 & 9 similarly share fairway space, but then to reach Hole 10, you have to completely backtrack backup Hole 9's fairway.

Holes 13 & 14 weave awkwardly through the woods. There are just too many trees on Hole 13 so it is forced to be called a par 4, despite being under 300'. Hole 14 is a literal S shape that plays uphill. I had to throw two perfect shots to have a look at birdie. Honestly, I am still not sure how hole 13 is a par 4, but hole 14 is a par 3.

Hole 16 somewhat throws towards an electrical fence.

Hole 17's tee is literally right next to said electrical fence. I wasn't paying attention and got dangerously close to it while taking a picture of Hole 17's tee sign.

Hole 18 should be a stellar finishing hole, with a water carry to a risky green, but due to the fairway shape and the bushy tree in the middle of the gap before said water carry, it removes any chance that anyone would ever try to reach the basket from the tee.

Other Thoughts:

Bohemian Cattle Co. does a lot of things really well. Surprisingly well really! To the point where I kept thinking to myself, this course could easily develop into a 4.0 to 4.5 course over time. The amount of elevation this course uses is truly incredible. Unfortunately it falls flat on its face so many times that it really knocks all of the wind out of its own sails. Not to mention that it is still new so it is extremely rough around the edges. This was a hard course to pin a rating down for because of that. Some holes could be added to any of the top courses I've played, and hold up well (if they were maintained.) Other holes would be reasons I tell people I don't like a course. So even with the amazing bar/food on site, I couldn't give this course anything higher than a 2.5 for now. If the course maintenance doesn't improve over time, I think this score would drop from me. I was a bit lenient because I know the course is less than 2 months old, so some of the weeds in the fairways are likely a pain to fight. The bar/restaurant may have bumped the rating up half a point.

If the farm manages to find a solution so that they can continue operating their agritourism business, I think they would benefit from continuing to build this course up, cutting the grass, fixing the tees, and fighting back the rough. That would make a huge difference. Then, if they were willing to cut a few new wooded holes at that point, they could bring in another designer to really flesh out the layout, get rid of some of the filler/awkward holes this could become a destination course. Some holes were already at that level, the course as a whole is not.

In the meantime, if you play here- I would recommend wearing long pants, and possibly bringing some friends and take time spotting for each other's discs from halfway down the longer fairways if your group tends to trebuchet shots off the fairway.
