As I turned up the street leading to Bonham Park, I can see the faded, yellow Discatcher basket from about a 1/4 mile away. Before I put the car in park I had spotted the # 1 basket and read the # 1 tee sign. Heck, I was ready to give the course a 5.0 by now. Playing lots of courses means lots of looking, backtracking, hunting, cursing, walking ahead, etc. Here is a course I could spot from 1/4 mile away. I'm delirious with joy!
Bonham Park is a fairly small city park with the usual things, tennis courts, ball field, soccer fields, playground and restrooms. Unfortunately, most of these interfere with our disc golfing experience.
The signs are sturdy 4" x 6" poles with the hole # on them. Somehow, three of these have been destroyed. Must be strong vandals around these parts. There are no pads so I just played from somewhere to some basket over there. The faded, yellow Discatchers do have a small number on them.
Today, there was only one other person in the park and twice I had to ask him to let me throw but he was cool and I ended up giving him one of my special "My wife asked me to get these out of the garage discs" and then gave him a couple of pointers. All of you who have played with me recently are now thinking, "The Valkyrie Kid is giving lessons. He's pathetic."
My point here is that this Park is not big enough for both disc golf and
️. You would probably have to skip # 1 & 3 and definitely couldn't play # 2 if there was soccer going on. And I have a feeling that soccer is a damn side more popular in this neighborhood than disc golf. And then 6 & 7 couldn't be played if there was anyone playing softball and # 8 throws across the BB courts and then # 9 is AWOL. All of this doesn't leave you with much disc golf to be playing. I might advise you not to travel from any distance to play Bonham DGC.
