Solid City Park in small town NE

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 27, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Nice tee signs and course map at hole 1
+Nice baskets- homemade, I think, but very functional
+U shaped pond that you throw over twice, along a few times, and towards another. Adds challenge and intrigue to an otherwise pretty typical city park.
+Elevation change on the first two holes are a nice touch.
+Overall, a very nice park. A few playgrounds, horseshoes, basketball courts, pond, tennis courts, camping, shelters, etc. Seems well maintained.
+Reasonable variety in hole length for a city park. Some on the shorter side but they are near the pond so accuracy is still rewarded.
+Ace runs possible.
+Decent place for newer players to learn but they will probably put one in the water here and there.
+Big concrete pads were solid and still grippy on a wetter morning.

Cons:

-The course plays right next to or through a number of other park activities. Could be an issue if the park were ever busy. Probably not an issue too often.
-Pond definitely will eat discs if you put them in there.
-The last 3 holes are definitely not as good as the first part. Hole 8 plays around the tennis courts, 9 plays through a busier part of the park and is a pretty average hole.
-Not enough trees to force lines on most holes.
-This course is limited by the size of the property and the amount of activities that they decided to put here. This is the main (or only?) park in town and it has to house a lot of stuff. The course was well designed but it is held back by the other stuff going on here.

Other Thoughts:

+Overall, this course is better than most small town 9ers. It had a decent fun factor and was well designed with the limited land that they had to work with. I would play here again if I was passing through.

Well kept fun 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 3, 2021 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Fun hole layout.
Used Obstacles well.
Two holes thrown over water.

Cons:

In a public park so there could be difficulty with people in the way of the park is busy.
No signs pointing to the next tee.
Some of the next tee boxes are not easily in view. Especially 9.

Other Thoughts:

The first hole is at the very north side of the park to the east of the pool.
Fun little course.
Only one longer hole.
Well kept...I would definitely play again off in the area.
