Camp Bethel DGC

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 14, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Some super tricky fairways
fairly secluded area so you could have the course to yourself
Nice baskets
overall fun layout

Cons:

If Camp activities are going on there is potential for people in your fairways.
Potential to lose a disc on the water hole.

Other Thoughts:

With Innova Discatcher baskets, rolling hills, and tight fairways, you can tell a lot of time and work was put into making this 9 hole course possible. There are a few holes where water is in play (trust me, I've donated a disc to the pond here) and plenty of elevation changes. This isn't a course you are going to go home and tell everyone to travel to, to play, but if you are in the area you don't want to skip the chance to play this one. Overall just a very fun layout. Loop it twice and you have 18 holes of disc golf with several ace runs. Check it out if you are near the area for sure! If you want to see this course on video, check out all 9 holes being played in the video below along with another nearby course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDRKfr2ss1g

Strangest course ever. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

The people were strangely delightful! Its the best/only course for miles arround. Jose at the main office freshly printed a color map of the course and gave me clear instructions on how to navigate and where i can park.

Cons:

Seemed almost too private for me to feel completed comfortable. Course not well maintained. Strange course layout except for #2, #4, and #9. Felt like i was at at an abandoned haunted theme park.

Other Thoughts:

Go with a friend, it really is a little spooky!

A Course for Fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 11, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Although most pins are short (except 7 & 9), some thought has gone into laying them out so that it is fun to play them. Seven and Nine should satisfy those of you who need a couple of pins to throw bombs on. Four, five, and eight were shots that took a little skill, but weren't too intimidating for a beginner or someone just looking for fun.

Cons:

The first basket is directly in front of cabin window. And I don't mean 50 feet, I mean 10 feet in front.

The fairways for 1 and 2 cross each other. Probably not going to be much of a problem because I don't think the course gets crowded enough for it to become one.

No tee box. There's just a post in the ground telling you whence to tee off. Not a problem to me, but sticklers might not like it.

Other Thoughts:

This is a Christian camp, but the course is open to all. The people are very friendly and welcoming. Courtesy calls for you to neither bring alcohol nor curse and believe me after I threw a particularly bad tee on 8 I was biting my tongue.

I'm pretty sure they have discs to lend if you want to try out disc golf.

This is not competitive, professional course, but I think it's fun to play. If you are in Wise I recommend that you drop by and check it out.
