Camp Basics

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 30, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

.
No tees or signs. Old single chain DGA portable baskets with number decals on the poles. You really need uDisc to navigate and figure out where to play from, especially for the opening holes.

Starts with a handful of very short (150' and less) holes, so you can stack up those birdies and ace runs early. Midway, the course opens up to 200' - 300'+ holes - mostly playing around the edges of an open field with a gentle slope (the single downhill hole is 370' par 3).

Cons:

.
Toward the back of the course, the fairways have become dumping grounds for downed trees. As a result, 13 - 15 are hardly playable. There's an area on 14 that's cordoned off because I guess more trees are likely to fall down.

Other Thoughts:

.
Camp Mount Luther is fine for campers who want to spend some time chucking plastic instead of other camp activities. The short holes will help newbies learn touch, and the long ones will let them see their discs fly across open fields. The camp is open to outsiders, but only hardcore baggers need to visit.

Camp Mt. Luther 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 1, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Course is not well known and not at all crowded. Some short technical holes with some holes where you can let it fly. I think the course was built as a recreational add-on for their summer camps.

Cons:

Call ahead to ensure various summer camps held at the facility will not interfere with your play.

Other Thoughts:

We don't have many DG courses in central PA so this one offers a change from your regular course.
