Tight and rough 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 28, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Tight and technical, Some good use of the elevation available. Nice use of the land, holes going straight as well as requiring both left and right turns.

Easy to find, and parking is nice.

Cons:

Tees and signs. Seriously, some of the old 9 hole signs are still sitting there but don't match the hole. Some tees are terrible carpet that is just rotting away. Layout isn't obvious because not enough traffic to really beat down the trails.

Other Thoughts:

Honestly 3 might be a bit high as it sits, but once the kinks get ironed out this could be an easy 4.

Nice technical holes with a couple open spots to air it out a bit more. Tight but fair lines, if you throw good you will score good, if you mes up you will pay.

Reminded me and the buddy I played with very positively of Kaposia Park in South St. Paul. Tight and wooded, but fair. This course is shorter, but still very nice.

download uDisc before you get there so you can use the map, you will want it.

Overall, very worth the stop off the highway on your way to the north shore.

Tranquil Forest DG Paradise 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 1, 2019 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Course plays through well traveled hiking trails and the surrounding forest. Beautiful old growth and the occasional wildlife spotting make this an amazing place in general.
The technical course can be punishing, but it has a great mix of shots. I use my whole bag on this course. It's more left-hand back-hand friendly than most courses.
There are only concrete tees for half the course. The others are carpet, which works ok for now.
Follow the orange flags, there's no signage yet.
The course is secluded and private. Doggo loves it but check for ticks.
Frustration or gratification can change in an inch with tight putter drives, long narrow corridors, or low ceilings, just how it should be on a great woodland course. Highly recommended!

Cons:

It's not completed yet, so there's only tee pads for half the course and there's no signage besides the orange flags. The footing can be a bit dangerous in spots, watch your step.

Other Thoughts:

Carlton is the best course in northern MN!
