Pros:
Easy to navigate- Large posts indicating tee number and distances at each tee location.
Numbers on baskets help in identifying which basket to throw to.
Although there are not concrete tee pads, the boards on the ground are helpful in knowing where to tee off from.
Baskets in good shape.
Ace runs and lots of birdies to be had- feel good course.

Ground not very flat at tee areas- protect those ankles!
Only open to public after school hours.
Hole 9 does not finish by the parking lot (but the course is small so it's not a big deal)

Other Thoughts:
This is a fine little disc golf course for high school P.E. classes, as I believe was the intent.
It's pretty boring as it's basically a field where they threw up a bunch of baskets. Holes 7-9 offer some versatility (elevation changes) which makes for a little more exciting finish.
I have a relative who works at the high school so if I happen to be visiting her I would grab my bag and play a quick round. But if I'm heading up or down I-5 I'd rather hit the Twin Cedars course which is just an exit north of this one and right off the Interstate- it has more to offer.

Smallish Rec Course Behind Castle Rock High School Offers Little In Way Of Challenge! 2+ years

Pros:
The little nine hole course sits quite a ways behind Castle Rock High School (Of course, they are the Castle Rock Rockets). Although listed as a course built for high school P.E. classes, I wonder if the distance (about a 4 block walk) would prove too much of a hindrance for this to be used for classes. That's too bad because the design/challenge is just right for inexperienced throwers such as high school students.
The course is mostly flat, fairly short, with few obstacles. Holes range from 150' to # 6's 315'. There are some scattered small trees which have just recently been planted. In time, they'll change the look of the course. I guess a terrible grip lock throw on # 5 could reach to the river but that would have to be monumental bad tee off.
There is a course sign at the beginning complete with course rules, a nice colored map and hole distances. Each hole has a simple post sign stating the hole par and distance. The course is easy to follow and it helps that each Discatcher basket has a large metal number sign about a foot high which is screwed onto the basket's yellow apron. Although unsightly, these large numbers are helpful here. The tee pads are just worn spots in the grass. Most have a front board although this board is missing from one or two holes.
The first six holes are wide open and flat with little in the way of obstacles. # 2 has three small trees planted about 40 feet in front of the baskets. As they grow, they will totally change the appearance of this hole.
The last three holes were my favorites as they, at least, had a little elevation. # 7 is just a short 190' shot with the basket about 1/2 visible down a small hill. # 8 is a short, 180', uphill shot but you do have to actually throw over some Scotch Broom plants or thread your tee shot through a narrow gap in the plants. I probably liked # 9 the best. It's another short (160"), small uphill shot but there is a pole just in front of the basket which forces you to throw around it.

The course was pretty boggy here on Easter Sunday. It would be pretty wet during the winter months. I'd definitely recommend boots for winter and early spring play.

I wonder if by the time high school students would stroll out here, would they then have time to actually complete the course?
On the final 3-4 holes there are these small structures with BCE painted on them along side a foot. Some look like they could be part of a BMX track or skateboard, although there is no concrete for that. Are they some sort of jumps/obstacles for a steeplechase course of some kind?
If I lived in Castle Rock, I'd play here. If you don't live nearby, it's just a nice easy little course to bag on your drive down I-5 between Seattle and Portland. It's only about 2 miles off the interstate.
