Pros:
-baskets are marked with numbers, tees are nice and big - all are in great condition
-plays a quick loop from the parking lot and back
-nice variation in distances, and creative use of the available trees/foliage on most holes
-both times I've played it wasn't crowded at all - maybe because school isn't in session right now?
Cons:
-lack of signage - perhaps it's on the way, but for now all ya got is a tee
-navigation - baskets for 5 & 8 are close enough to each other that when you're playing 8 it can get confusing
-crossing fairways - possible to end up in 8's fairway when playing 7, especially when you're trying to avoid the road that parallels the fairway. The basket for 7 is really close to 8's tee. It's not DIRECTLY in front of it, but could potentially cause issues. An slightly errant shot on 9 can also put you in the middle of another fairway. If there was more traffic at the place it'd start to feel cramped.
-not-so-fun-hazards - as stated before 3 & 7 play along roads, and 5 has an apartment building along the right hand side which can end up in play with an imperfect shot
Other Thoughts:
This course was very well reviewed about a month ago, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents. CCU is 9 holes of flat, bare-bones golf. That said, it's not a bad little course. Though I agree with bobmcnelly's assessment of 7-9, I enjoyed them just because it was nice to balance the shorter holes out, particularly 7 & 8.
When I played the first time I played a local joined us and said the course designer considers 7 & 8 par 4's, so I updated the hole info. I almost think 4 should be par 4 also, but it's highly debatable. Anyone with a stunning RHFH could make it in 3. Would I play it again? If in the area, absolutely - it's a nice warm-up or cool-down for nearby Fehringer Ranch, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it.
