Ace runs galore

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 10, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+One of the shortest courses that I have ever played. Longest hole was probably 150' or even less. Some of them had to be around 100'. This is a pro because every hole is an ace run.
+9 baskets that are all in good shape. Yellow banded Innova Discatchers.
+9 black rubber tees, all in plenty good shape for this length of course.
+A few signs near the first couple tees to aid navigation. Navigation was really easy with the exception of the 7 basket to 8 tee portion. From the 7 basket, follow the outfield fences until you are toward the NE part of the park. Hole 8 is a short tunnel shot over there.
+Despite the short length, there were still obstacles to shoot around. There were some low ceilings and 2 tunnel like shots. A good amount of trees for a small town course on the plains.
+Good place for beginners and kids. Shouldn't lose a disc here.

Cons:

-Really short/not a lot of variation in length. Could easily play a whole round with a putter or mid and not miss out on any scoring opportunity.
-No signage at or near tees.
-Whole park is showing its age/lack of maintenance. Probably relies on volunteer work or a single city employee with a lot of other tasks. According to a sign, they are putting in a nice new playground next year. May revitalize the whole park a bit.
-They did a pretty good job of avoiding other park activities but there could be a few conflicts if the park were ever busy. The camper parking spots could be in the way hole holes 2-3. Hole 9 plays toward the park and shelter but shouldn't be an issue due to the short length of the course.
-Very flat, no elevation to speak of.

Other Thoughts:

+There is camping here, bathrooms, ballfields, playground, shelters, sand volleyball. Decent little park in a small town.
+The course had a decent fun factor for me with the ace runs. Better than most small town, park style courses in that regard.

Pros:

Easy and casual nine hole course. Minimal challenge with course around perimeter of baseball.fields.
