Nice little church Niner

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 12, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good use of the land around the church, doesn't seem to interfere with any other uses.
Black hole baskets on every hole.
Tee markers.
A few challenging holes and more distance than you expect at a church course.

Cons:

Natural tees, some were tough to fine since the markers are small and set in ground.
Most of the baskets were rusty and several were leaning. They haven't fared too well since they were installed just 3 years ago.
Many of the tees were very close to the preceding basket. I guess that eliminates the need for Next Tee signs.

Other Thoughts:

As I normally mention when a private organization spends their money and time to install a course that is open to the public, thanks to Cornerstone Baptist Fellowship. The course has changed and no longer matches the map on here. #8 on the map is now #1, which starts at the front of the lot, near the parking lot, a good decision. All of the holes are the same layout, so its pretty easy to follow, from there, with only one longish walk to the next tee, #8 to #9 tee.
There are some good uses of the vegetation on the course, since there is no elevation. #2 plays as a hyzer around some brush, #5 requires a tight tee shot between guardian trees, #6 is a longer hyzer hole, around several large trees, finally, #9 has a river along the right side, but there are plenty of trees to knock down errand throws.
Definitely not a destination course, but could bring in some new players before or after church activities, plus its a good suplement to nearby Kiwanis Hobart, which is now 18 holes.

amazing little 9 hole course drive by

Other Thoughts:

The tees are all marked by cement parking blocks. I didn't know until we got to hole 2. The first hole is to the left of the cement walkway that goes to the back shed. Every other tee is close to the basket of the last hole.

Pleasant surprise 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 4, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well kept grounds.
Enough distance for practice.
Not crowded.

Other Thoughts:

I appreciate the work done to create this course. It's a fun 9 hole stop while I'm biking. Although it's flat and mostly open, it's a good place to practice your game without fear of losing a disc. I also hope that this course attracts some folks into the church. Kudos to those responsible for making this course a reality.
