Easy to navigate even without tee signs. There are enough obstacles to make things difficult in a fun way, but here is still enough space to take many different lines. This course is an awesome course to start playing disc golf on, it is fairly short, fairly easy and also beautiful. A lot of the shrubs have been removed or don't have leaves after September which makes it a lot more forgiving if you shank a disc. Holes 1-3 are mostly open, while the rest of the course is fairly wooded. This course uses elevation exceptionally incorporating it on 6/9 holes. The shorter distances allow a beginner to do well while also challenging an experienced player's technical skills.

Park is often crowded, must be careful of people on a few holes. Some trees that were once there are no longer there which makes it less pretty. On hole 5 there is a massive mud pit that seems to threaten the course. Suncadia is an ever developing development and that makes me worry about the courses furture, especially with the nearby construction. Some holes (mainly 9) are too short, 9 requires a technical shot through trees, but it is only like 100 feet! Make it a little harder! The measurements on the signs are incorrect (7 is much longer than 60') the tee pads are very short and do not offer much besides flat ground for a stand still shot.

The area where this course is, is often windy. Lots of snow in winter time, better to play during summer. The hills are hard to walk up in the snow. Pretty good chance you might hit an ace on holes 4,5,8,and 9. Couldn't decide whether that is a pro or con...

Lots of elevation change. Good mix of easy and difficult. Long and short drives. Good chance to mingle with the Elk heard.

Only 9 holes. If park is busy you might have to skip a couple holes. Some tees are not large enough. Played this course on 4/10/2017. An excavater came through and clear cut hole #5, Drove over tee and did some damage, and bent the basket. All the tress are gone, so it is a straight down drive to basket. Don't know what Suncadia's plan is for this course.

Only real complaint is that most of the tees are not placed very well. Many are too short. I found myself moving back several times to find a better spot to throw from. This course is close by and maintained really well.

This is a midlevel type course with some technical / wooded aspects.

I played several times while staying at SunCadia. I introduced a few family members to disc golf during the visit.

Good signage and baskets and tee-pads.

Hole 2 can be interrupted by other users of the park. I had to skip it one day due to an event.

A good quick round after dinner is perfect. Nice warm up before heading out to Hanson's pond nearby.

need to work on the teepads, no rubber, or concrete. it is natural grounding.

worth your time for short play before visiting hanson pond DG park in Cle Elum.

Finding the course: Follow the very accurate directions on the main page and you'll find yourself to the parking area quite easily. From there follow the little trail off to the left by the fenced in dog park that leads to the wonderfully kept bathrooms, large course map and first tee. Navigation is easy but if you so choose take a picture of the course map with your phone for later use. First hole plays to the inside of the walking path and cuts into the bushes near the "S" in the path and carry on.

Holes two is fun being a big downhill throw to a basket in the open field but only if you make the semi opened lined treed fairway. Quick note/tip: The tee pad for this hole is on the side of the hill and not flat at all but if you walk up a couple of feet there is a paved walking trail that makes for a better tee pad and a bigger downhill throw.

Most of the holes on this course challenge your ability to control the disc horizontally with lined treed fairways on either side and also control your disc vertically especially downhill but also uphill shots. Throw too high downhill and you're past the basket, throw too low and you're way short. Tomahawks and thumbers are rewarded here as well but for best results disc down to a putter and keep it in the fairways.

Skill level: most of these holes will challenge anyone who hasn't mastered throwing the disc straight or who have poor distance control. Most of the distances are under 300 feet so power isn't much of a factor. I think this course best fits intermediate players but I could see certain advanced players becoming frustrated at times if they don't know how to throw the right lines. On the other hand some beginners might actually find some of this course semi easy if they have mastered tomahawks and thumbers and can easily throw over most obstacles.

The course flow works really well but it all goes one way: away from the parking lot. So that makes for about a 1/3 of a mile walk back to the car through all of the other fairways, annoying to walk that far but maybe even more annoying for those still playing previous holes.

It seems the course has been redesigned at some point because the hole distances listed on the map at the kiosk are so off they are laughable. I was looking forward to the 50 foot seventh hole only to discover the hole has been moved out of sight and down a hill 200 plus feet, still a fun hole but semi frustrating if you didn't know that.

I don't think there are a ton of people using this area of the park but I could be wrong and if I am then holes tow and three would need to be skipped because they play on and over a full soccer field. I was here at 1pm in the afternoon during the week and had no problems whatsoever, in fact beside one person in the dog park and several employees I was all alone.

This course is actually one of the better nine hole courses I've played recently and otherwise and I recommend it if you're driving on I-90. Guy at the gate was friendly and directed me to the parking area and despite what the main page said he did know what I was talking about when I said "Disc Golf".

Dawson Park is a lovely multi-use park that sits in Suncadia Resorts just outside Cle Elum. The park is beautiful with many activiites to choose from including basketball, tennis, playgrounds, ballfields, and a dog park. There are paved biking/walking paths and a hut in the center which loans out equipment including discs and course maps. There are the cleanest, nicest restrooms on site I've encountered anywhere.

The course starts over near the restrooms and plays at a recreational level. There is a course sign at the beginning with a map and distances for each hole. And then each tee sign has the distances for each hole. That's a problem I'll address later.

The tee pads are natural. Some are decent while a couple ( # 2 & 4) are very uneven and dangerous.

# 1 is listed as a 313' Par 4. It's an easy eagle waiting to happen, just a simple hyser bomb into the woods near the basket. The rest are played as Par 3's.

# 5 is a cool 199' downhill ACE run which has you throwing through a 20' wide swath in the trees.

The signs for # 6 and 7 are both incorrect as the holes have been redesigned. # 6 was a 345' throw straight up a forested hill to a blind basket. It should have been about a Par 6 for the clientele who are mostly playing this course, which are young parents with elementary school aged kids.

# 7 is listed as 52' but the basket is more like 200' and sits down a hillside.

# 8 is a clever little downhill anhyser throw and then you finish with # 9 being a short 210' ACE run through the trees.

This course plays as a recreational level course but probably 95% of it's clientele are beginners/novices who have borrowed discs from the hut. The course is way over their heads.

The problem with making these nice tee signs with the original distances is when you find out that you have to change a basket location, then you're stuck with all your signs being wrong! That's the case here. # 6 and 7 are now totally different holes. It was confusing for me and I've played almost 600 courses. These beginners were clueless.

# 4 tee pad is slanting downward on a throw most beginners are trying to crank on. It needs to be leveled. It's dangerous. # 6 tee pad is very rough and uneven.

The park is beautiful and heavily used, at least on a lovely summer day on the Labor Day Weekend. The course has some wonderful things going for it, nice park, nice baskets, a couple fun throws but it just doesn't reach it target audience. It's a little too technical and a little too long for them. But they probably aren't writing reviews for DGCR, are they?

This 9 hole course is in a park in a resort just off !90 in Cle Elum, WA. The gate guard and lady in the activities shack were both really polite and helpful.
The course plays around and across a very well maintained park but stays away from the areas most likely to be busy. The park has a hill on one side and woods on both that the course makes good use of.
Holes require a good variety of shots, with some hard doglegs to both the right and left. There are a couple tunnel shots and many holes have good risk/reward with more trees in the most direct line to the hole. While holes tended to be short, there was still challenge presented by either elevation, trees, or both.

Really not many. Tees are short and unimproved but holes where a run up is needed have a trail by them. We threw from trail beside 1 and 10' behind 2.
Park is heavily watered so may have to deal with sprinklers on 1-3.
Maps and tee signs are very nice but last 4 holes(and maybe 3, 4) have been changed since they were printed. This improved the course but don't believe distances or pars listed on those holes. Corrected here.
No trash cans on course, may be one in park, didn't see bathrooms.

This is a well thought out and challenging park course. Between this one, Hanson Ponds in Cle Elum, or Blue Heron in Moses Lake there is a very nice variety of courses to play in the I90 corridor between Seattle and Spokane. For a quick stop this one is probably your best bet.
