Callenging Risk and Reward Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 13, 2019 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course will challenge your skills of accuracy and course management. Lots of OB on most of the holes with the pathways and creek running through the majority of the course. It makes you plan your shots carefully both off the tee and aproaching the basket. Designed as a risk and reward playing course and will definately make you improve your skills to score well. 2 alternating basket positions for each hole. The park is quiet and clean. Signage on the holes is well done. Bathroom and garbage facilities available spring through fall.

Cons:

Quite challenging for newer players. The creek can gobble up your discs if you don't have good control as a newer player. Easier to play in the fall when the creek is low.

Other Thoughts:

The park is a quiet most of the time. There is a great group of local players that are always willing to play with visitors to Beaumont.

Don't expect too much 2+ years

Pros:

Beaumont has a disc golf course. Good for people nearby to take up the sport with an entry level course. If you've got an opportunity to squeeze 9 holes into a park like this, you do what you can.

Cons:

Most holes rely on a tight fairway for challenge with an OB path on one side, and a marsh with reeds on the other. Good chance discs that go into the marsh aren't recovered. When the course finally reaches some trees, there are a couple decent holes.

Other Thoughts:

There's a fundamental problem with a course that would only appeal to newbies that runs right along side a disc eating marsh. So while the only reason I might play this course again is to take my son for something easy to play while we're visiting family... I wouldn't take my son back to this course because it's too likely he'll lose a disc.

Not much to say really; locals will hopefully get some enjoyment out of this, but no one should go out of their way while travelling to play this. Not even from Leduc.
