Nice Variety, Medium Length 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 2, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Lots of variety on the types of shots required to score well. This can be challenging for beginners.
- Not usually crowded.
- Nice, long tee pads. Personally, we liked the "rough" surface on the concrete that helps prevent slipping or sliding.
- Overall, the course is being maintained well. (We didn't see any of the issues mentioned in a previous review.)
- Course layout has the holes fairly evenly spaced out.
- Baskets are good quality (DisCatcher) and all in good shape.

Cons:

- As of this review, some construction is underway on hole #2 in the form of about 30 large piles of fresh dirt in the fairway. We just considered these extra hazards, but the hole was still playable.
- A couple of the tee signs were off their posts and laying on the ground.

Other Thoughts:

We've played here a couple of times and really enjoy the course. Compares favorably with other local courses in the area.

Still needs work 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 21, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a challenging course
Lots of variety of throws needed RHBH and RHFH and overhand
Some holes are reminiscent of a ball golf course
Baskets are brand new, so they are excellent

Cons:

Lots of out of bounds
When we played the course had some serious mowing issues
Fairways had been barely bush hogged with tractor
Some fairways were barely two tractor passes wide
Large sections of course were very wet and swampy
Waist high to chin high grass in some spots
Tee pads are rough as a corn cob
Overflow concrete from basket installation left on ground under every basket perfect for scaring up your putter
Found 12 ft long 2x4 on course left over from forming up the tee pads

Other Thoughts:

When I finished playing this course I summed it up in one word. DUMP! This course is a dump right now! It still needs a lot of work. Yes it is challenging, and has the potential to be a great course, but it just isn't ready yet. It's like they were in a rush to open it, and failed to finish getting it ready. The mowing is a major problem. It is located at the softball complex which is maintained immaculately. So why not put the same amount of effort into the disc golf course? I am very disappointed in this course. After me and my son (he loves disc golf) played this course, he said he didn't want to come back. OUCH! Come on Greenbrier, step up and finish our course and please mow. I shouldn't have to worry about losing a driver in the middle of the "fairway".

Great Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 1, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Greenbrier is doing a excellent job on mowing the grass. Does have the good disc catcher baskets installed. Tee pads are lengthy which is a plus. Matt Lloyd did a great job on the pin placements and added additional strategies with the majority of the holes with out of bounds. Once improvements are done with a raised basket on 18 this should jump up to a 4-star course.

Cons:

Would love to see alternate basket locations in the future. Is kind of on the wet side after a good rain. Pads are too rough on a few holes, but are no problem once you get use to them. Rough fairways allow for no skips or rollers.

Other Thoughts:

This course is great for lefties as it is for righties. Improvements will turn this into a great course and I personally would like to see several tournaments throughout the year here like doubles, 3-man, 666 format, 2 disc challenge, ace race to name a few.
