Well??????????

Pros:

I don't know exactly what to review here. The town of Gypsum doesn't look too prosperous. The disc golf course is on the grounds of an old school which is in the process of falling down. The little 6-hole course starts at concession stand ( Which I don't think has sold any popcorn since, maybe the 60's). The restrooms here don't have a roof (tornado ?).

There is a course map on the wall of concession stand. The tee pads are marked with two paver stones, one has the hole # and the second has the distance and par. The baskets are new white Dynamic Patriot models. They look brand new.

1. Plays about 260' to a basket set around back of the BB backstop.
2. My favorite hole plays 167' to another basket hid right around the fence. The difference here is you can simply throw your disc at the other nearby backstop and you should then have an easy birdie.
3. Plays 275' to a basket straight down the left field foul line.
4. My favorite tee pad location! From deep down the left field line, the tee pad is located under the branches of a large (Oak) tree. The basket is 214' with a tree in your line.
5. Still throwing in the same direction only an open 261'. The basket is protected by a couple of trees.
6. I couldn't find the tee pad paver blocks but the basket is over near the concession stand (Still with no product). It's supposed to be 331'. Up on the little hill here would be the perfect spot for the tee pad. It could be Gypsum's very own "Top of the World Shot."

The course does loop back to the beginning.

Cons:

Only 6 baskets.

Lack of challenge.

Not much of a physical presence here.

Flat.

Other Thoughts:

Okay, so I'm pretty impressed that Gypsum has a course, even it's only 6 holes. Thanks for letting me try it out. I hope the local disc golfing crowd enjoys the course, enjoys the sport, increases participation, develops a world champion, becomes the disc golf Mecca after installing three more 18's and three more 9's. Maybe, I'll be back in a few years to witness all this growth phenomenon!
