Pros:
If you're creative, you can make a passable safari layout. If you follow the flow of the baskets in a circle, well....
- There are six baskets. Being very generous, they are in a small field measuring an acre and a half.
- You can play this as the designated criss-crossing layout, play it as a short layout from one basket to the next, or just for practice. None is ideal.
- Baskets are adequate. No tee areas, which is further reason to create your own.
- Good layout to introduce new players to the game.
- Can be played quickly. I was out of here in 10 minutes.
- I guess if you live within walking distance you can use the baskets for putting or approach practice.
Cons:
This isn't a true course. That plus the compacted layout makes you wonder how much usage the baskets actually get.
- No indication of signage or tee signs. That's a good thing or a bad thing. YMMV
- Lack of challenge. The minimal trees have to be throw around or under branches. Not too difficult.
- If you try to use the UDisc app, you'll look like a fool trying to determine the random patch of grass that is meant to be a tee.
- Boring.
- Not a single memorable aspect to it. Even the Google Street view of the school is more than 10 years old.
Other Thoughts:
Hawley is good for bagging purposes. That's obvious by seeing the people on this site who have played here.
- Nine people have marked this 'course' as played. Only one person who's played here has played less than 150 courses. Five of the nine have played more than 750 courses. Is the course doing something right that it only attracts the elites?
- Unless the baskets get spaced out, this will be a bad layout. It's not worth time to make excess walking to simply create different 'holes.'
- Glad this was a quick play. There wasn't a single memorable basket location here.
- Writing this review, I didn't know what town this was in. Had to look it up. I've already forgotten. Seems fitting. This layout will soon be forgotten too.
