Before I talk about the course itself, I just wanted to write that setting up a time to play was very easy. The owners are friendly and very quick to respond.

In terms of the course, there's quite a bit of variety here and all of the fun little staples that make up a great course. You have a pond hole, a hanging basket, elevated basket, and a basket that sits in the back of a trailer.

The course has variety in short/long, left/right, and open/wooded. It's a really cool piece of land that sits along the Rock River on farm property and I'm glad it's being utilized for disc golf.

The round itself is quite fun. It's challenging yet very fair. The design is well thought out with minimal walks between holes and 18 ending exactly where 1 tees off. There are a couple spots where there is a short and a long tee, adding a bit more variation.

For the pond hole (currently #5), there's a cool hole map with distances carved and painted into a stone, which was incredible. If this is done for the other holes, it would be the best tee signs I've ever seen, but I'd imagine it's quite a bit of work.

In this section, I'll list things that could make this course go from Very Good to Excellent.

A couple of the holes felt a little repetitive. Throwing down a 300 foot road with a basket tucked on one side at the end.

Right now the tee signs are just the hole #. Adding distance and par would be great. Similarly, tees are mostly natural with a couple spots where there is a rubber mat. Once the design is locked in, going with cement tees would add value.

In terms of design, right now a couple baskets are used for more than one hole. For tournament play, I'd advise against doing this. For solo rounds, it works pretty well.

We parked along the street and walked to the course. Unfortunately this is quite a walk (maybe like 5 minutes) but I'm not sure what the owner can do about it. Just something to be aware of.

I'd imagine the rough gets pretty thick in the summer/fall. We lost two discs during our round (both embarrassingly poor throws, 1 into the lake and 1 into the rough on 14's right side weeds). The fairways are pretty generous, so you'll never be looking for a good shot. Similarly, I would bet this area can get pretty buggy in summer (just a guess though).

All in all, I certainly would recommend this course. It's a very fun round and certainly worth the $5/day recommended donation.

Ixonia also has two 9ers that play very quickly, so it's a great little city to bag 3 courses within a 3 hour span.
