Short and sweet

Pros:

The course designer deserves props for getting the most out of the limited space- this is about as compact as it gets for a nine holer. It's small but functional, and surprisingly fun. It has new Dynamic Patriot baskets and uses metal poles to indicate the tees. The standout features here are the rolling hills and obstacles- every shot requires a unique line to get the birdie. Several holes have low ceiling branches that require precision. Most baskets are placed on the slope of a hill, making rollaways likely. Very little chance to lose plastic unless you shank your shot on three or four. Navigation is straightforward enough. It's located in a city park so there are a few pavilions in the area, as well as basketball courts, a swimming pool and a children's playground. Bathrooms were locked when I was here.

Cons:

The lack of size will surely be a turnoff for big arm players. The longest hole is around 270'. The baskets can be a little crowded- in a couple of instances specifically, 2 baskets are within 30' of each other, with some starting tees just as close. It desperately needs dedicated tee pads and detailed signage, as well as some seating and garbage cans (improvements would bump up my score slightly). No practice basket. A road winds around the perimeter so be wary of foot and vehicle traffic. A course map would be helpful.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, it's remarkable that this course exists in the first place. It's short, sweet and a good spot for beginners to learn the sport. Located in a small town, I wasn't expecting such an interesting layout, although a few of the holes COULD be lengthened. It's not the best 9 holer out there but would be thrilled if it was in my hometown as it's a solid place to practice. Not worth a special trip but a decent course to stop at if you have the time.
