Discgolf in Candyland is Truly a Treat 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 25, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

20 nicely designed holes with multiple tees that requires a wide range of shots.
Smooth flowing beautiful lakeside birch forest track in a lovely town called Candy, it's sweet!
Fun and challenging lines through wooded tunnels, elevation changes, and some long par 4's.
High quality baskets, tee signs and pads.
Scenic and peaceful place that's not particularly busy for such a great course.

Cons:

A bit tricky to immediately locate the next tee sometimes, although they have a great map at the start. Could be helpful to take a picture of it or have some kind of guide.
No facilities on site (within walking distance from the town's market area anyway).

Other Thoughts:

In the middle of the course is a big wooden look-out tower that offers splendid views and quality shelter for breaks and what not.

Good course with options 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Very detailed signage at tees
- Tees and fairways well maintained
- Different course options for players
- Varied landscape: mix of woods, hills, fields and industrial area
- Well suited for night and speed golf

Cons:

- Lack of waypoint signs
- Repetitive; some holes played like an iteration of one another
- Tee quality varied for player level: concrete tee pads for lower levels and astro turf tees for higher levels
- Lack of flag poles and OB markings to identify baskets
- Some holes too close to one another with no natural OBs, for example around 6 and 8 and 10 and 18

Other Thoughts:

Overall, a good, fun course with a few challenging pars. I would definitely recommend the course if you want to break in new discs, especially a fairway driver. The course has 20 holes, but it is not overwhelming and is designed well enough for all levels of play. There are not really any putting challenges; mostly drive and approach shots. Finding the course was a bit difficult, so definitely look up directions and be careful along the road that runs through hole 1. Initially, I thought the course would be difficult to navigate, but it was not a problem. I would definitely play the course again if in the area.
