Pros:
• Beautiful scenery
• Scorecard with map at Tee 1
• Good use of the park's natural features
• Some elevation
• #18 is a fun "Empty the Bag" downhill hole.
• Not crowded
Cons:
• No long holes, but I don't really mind this. Others will find this to be a big negative
• Several holes play close to a baseball field, could be a problem during games
• Different players might be shooting to the same basket from different tees (see other thoughts), so playing a tournament here would be a challenge.
• A few baskets are close to fenced backyards. Errant throws might turn your favorite disc into a doggie chew toy.
• Grass and dirt tee pads might get slick in wet weather.
• There is tall grass and sagebrush on a few holes that can hide a disc.
Other Thoughts:
This course is located in a fairly new neighborhood park near the Hailey airport. The mountains surrounding the area make for a beautiful backdrop. All baskets are played from 2 different tees. Holes 10-18 play backwards on previously played baskets from different tee placements. This is a clever use of the terrain to allow 18 holes on an acreage that might only hold 9 holes otherwise. I have heard of this type of course, but had never actually played on one before. This design works fine here because this is not a busy course. Because this is a fairly new park, the trees are all small and don't provide much of an obstacle. The course should get better as these trees mature.
