Philantrophy gone wild. 2+ years

Pros:

I had the opportunity to start on hole #9 and end with the signature hole #8. The idea of having lefty, righty, or dual routes on multiple shots had me imagining the possibilities, the risk, and the glory of potential throws. Several par 4's and 5's that are realistic to obtain birdies and almost impossible to eagle. Elevation, well defined path, even the water to up the pucker factor. Lost a couple discs and still had fun. A couple holes allow you to bust out a roller, and roller I did. Some of the most beautiful rollers I ever had traversed this fine piece of land. I had my rolling box on wheels and was able to pull it throughout the entire course with little to no difficulty. Definitely stroller capabale if you have a kid to push.

Cons:

There is still some potential rough on a couple holes. The volunteers have taken their time to mow, chop, and hack through certain areas. This may become a con if you try the course out when the volunteers are not preparing for their large events. There's no major downhill mountain bombs but there is just enough topsy turvy elevation to force ya to adjust throwing with the land. A couple of the tees may be rubber pads. I think I had one dirt tee that should change by the time you get there.

Other Thoughts:

This is not a run of the mill par 54 backyard course. It is the GOLD topnotch quality challenge with a par of 69. You will be tested. Lick your chops and smile at the natural obstacles. The opportunity to play this course is to appreciate nature in its finest. It's about 12,000 steps worth from start to finish. Be sure to pack whatever you need because you will not be back to your car until the end of the round. There's a couple bathrooms within the layout. Camping, boating, and cabins are available. The heat may be brutal in the summer so bring plenty of water.

If you bump into Clayton Nash or Jeff Haydel, be sure to thank them for their hard work availing us the opportunity to play this Gold standard course.
