Pros:

Lancaster HS has a pretty okay nine hole course. This is your standard WI school course. The school grounds are well tended to year round and the course itself is actually slightly above average compared to the slew of others I've played at schools in WI. Ever so slightly though.

The baskets are pretty basic. It says they're homemade on here, I honestly don't remember though. They seemed pretty Machlike from what I remember. If they are homemade they're pretty well done. I didn't have any issues with them catching, for the most part. One basket and position per hole.

The tees are just concrete pavers laid into the ground. More than adequete. The course is not going to be played too heavily so the natural pads are all in great shape. Basically plays basket to basket. Pretty easy to find your way around out here. Very logical flow.

There's some moderate elevation in play out here. Nothing crazy, but enough to keep you on your toes a bit. A few trees are involved too, again, nothing crazy. The wind will be the main adversary if it's up. Just enough things to keep it somewhat interesting throughout.

Permanant, free to play and well maintained. There's another pretty solid nine in town as well.

Cons:

The baskets. Hole 5's looks like it was hit by a dump truck. Tilted and mangled very badly. It's both comical and sad at the same time. Hole 7's basket is mounted just barely above the ground. It looks like it was purposely installed that way. Why? I couldn't tell you.

The course layout dumps you off pretty far away from the parking lot. Pretty annoying. I untied the rope holding the gate closed for the basefield field and just walked through that back to my car. Obviously not possible if the field was in use.

A couple holes play close to the neighboring properties. Holes 5 and 6 being the two main culprits.

Very hard to find the pavers without a map or excessive wandering around looking like a crazy person. If you don't have a map just pick a spot near the previous basket and call it good. The Udisc map was pretty damn accurate though. Not worth the hassle though.

Other Thoughts:

Play it if you have to. I can't recommend it, but it's not the worst school course I've played. Far from it actually. But it's still a WI school course and that puts it on the low end of the spectrum. It is a course though.
