Ace Runs in the Bluffs 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Nice Dynamic Veteran Baskets, the same ones as on the other two courses here.
+Tees are now made of turf. It's not my favorite tee surface but this course is very short and it gets the job done.
+Signage is improving. It's still hand drawn but does have some info to help you navigate.
+This is the beginner course on site and is much shorter and easier to walk/hike than the other two on site. It is a very welcome addition. I have been playing disc golf for awhile and still had fun here. It's a good change of pace from the other two courses and should entertain everyone. A good warm-up for Canyons and/or Prairie.
+Despite the overall short length, there were still a lot of fun shots here. There were still some fast greens, rock features, or tricky tee lines to navigate.
+Decent elevation. Not as much as the other two but still some good ups and downs.
+Lots of ace opportunities. Some are fairly open attempts and some are shorter but require a fairly specific line.

Cons:

-Tees are much improved over natural but they could be better. Canyons has rubber mats and those are nice.
-Signage is still a work in progress. I'm sure they will upgrade both of these as they get $$$.
-The course is cool and interesting on the first time through for a more experienced player but it might lose its appeal after a few rounds. The other two courses on site will always be fun for more experienced players.
-Overall rough terrain. Not as bad as Canyons but still not a park style course by any means.
-Navigation has improved already and will likely continue to do so. However, it is still a bit hard to get around. This is compounded by the fact that this course shares some baskets and land with the Prairie course. Some may consider that fact a con as well but I didn't see any other players out there when I was playing.
-This course is short! I think 2 holes above 200 in the layout when I played. You will be throwing putters and mids off the tee most of the time.

Other Thoughts:

+Pine Bluffs has a great thing going with 3 fun courses on one site. Definitely worth the visit for sure. Play all three courses.
+This course does share baskets and land with the Prairie course. They do this very tactfully and I often didn't realize that I was playing the same basket again until after I got there.
+There might been room for further expansion here which would be crazy. They already have 46 cool holes here.
+All three courses start near the overlook where Canyons #1 big tee is. I recommend using Udisc's app to navigate all the courses. They have put in signs and Canyons is fairly easy to navigate but the other two are challenging still.
+This course could go up in rating for me once it is broken in a bit. Especially if they continue to work on it. It's a lot of fun but still rough around the edges.
+This course does have a donation box and it looks like all the $$$ goes right back into the course. Well worth it!
