Easy to follow. Signs are accurate. Nice view of the lake. Always liked course review over u but having to type a paragraph is a waste of time.

Public park with walking paths. No pets.

Good break from town. This isn't a dating profile why do we need to type so much.

- decent amenities for a course of this size: bathrooms, picnic tables, garbage cans, etc.
- pretty good elevation change for a 9 hole city park course
- lots of mature trees add to technical challenge
- good incorporation of water hazard
- most holes are moderately open but all have some elevation change or obstacles

- plays very close to road, playgrounds, picnic tables, etc. and presents numerous safety hazards
- secondary tees aren't very well marked
- baskets are pretty basic/older
- could use next tee indicators to help with navigation
- areas around baskets can get muddy
- a bit of a walk from hole 9 back to parking lot

I stopped by Lucerne Park on my way from Chicago to Ft. Wayne. This little park is worth the quick detour off the interstate. The park is nice, and presents a decent challenge for what at first glance may appear to be a run of the mill city park.

The biggest con with this course, similar to many city parks, is the safety issues. I had multiple times I was concerned about throwing because of other people using the park just kind of "hanging out" in the way. They weren't doing anything wrong - they were using the park, and disc golf is just too close to the other activities. While I'm glad to see disc golf being incorporated into so many communities, this is not the best way to do it. However, the course is still playable if you are careful on a few of the holes.

The elevation change here is really neat, particularly on holes 8 and 9 where you throw down towards the lake and an overthrow will get you wet. You then turn around and throw uphill to the blind basket for 9. Other holes also had good elevation change, and plenty of mature tree obstacles. I only wish the wooded area along side holes 2 and 3 could have been incorporated for even more challenge. I have no idea if this land belongs to the park/city, but it looked like a cool opportunity.

I recommend using the blue tees since they are concrete and well marked. The green tees have a single paver in front of them and and are natural and are not always obvious. This course is't especially long either way, but the green tees can be a nice option for a true beginner, typically shaving a little distance off but not offering a completely different line.

Holes 6 and 7 also incorporate the lake hazard, playing alongside it. It is a nice view from one of the lower areas of the park. Overall, Lucerne Park was clean, quiet, and a nice place to play a quick round of disc golf. It also had some cool black squirrels which I always love to see; for whatever reason we do not have them in Chicago.

This won't be a destination to go out of your way for, but it's probably one of the more decent "ditch off the interstate for a quick detour" courses I have hit. If you're nearby, it's worth playing.

- Set in an attractive little multiuse park on a lake, Lucerne DGC does a great job of using all the available "spills and thrills" including the lake, the giant oak trees, and the elevation to create a solid nine hole city course. #1 starts right by the road at the entrance and winds it's way through the park's massive oaks, playing along a fitness trail, the lake, and a playground.
- Water flanks the course in several spots. Hole #'s 6-8 play along the water. #8 is downhill with the water behind the pin.
- The elevation, while not epic, is enough to add variety and the need to control shots in that respect. Hole #'s 2, 4, 5, 8 and 9 all have some decent up or down hill action.
- Signage is good.
- Tees are reasonable enough for the length of the holes. Just natural with a couple of bricks to mark where to throw from.

- Definitely in tight quarters with other park activities. Not sure how busy the course gets, but basically any sort of other park activity is going to interfere with a round.

- Overall a solid enough affair. Nothing to get excited about; however, nothing to pass up if you're in the area.

This is a nice little 9 hole course with dual tees. The course plays through mature growth with some rolling hills and a nice view of the lake. Great use of the hills and the trees are very large. Signs are nice as welll as the baskets. Restrooms on site and a couple nice playgrounds. A fair mix of shots are utilized; some right turning holes, some left turning. Distance also varies, and with the option to play from 2 different set of tees, there is a layout for the beginners and more experienced.
The few holes that play along the lake are picturesque and provide a nice breeze across the fairways.
Several of the alternate tees provide not only a distance variation, but also a different angle.

Tee pads are only marked by pavers. Signs are only at the long tees. Typically when I play a course for the first time, I will play short tees first followed by long tees. In this case I had to go to the long tee first to view the sign and then walk to the short tee to throw.

I could not find the short tee for hole 4 and 5.

Hole 9 is very close to a school building, might not be playable at certain times?

Overall, I enjoyed this course. It has some very nice mature growth and is well manicured. I believe concrete tees would increase my rating and some sort of marking at the short tees with distance. The holes that run along the lake make this course worth a visit in my opinion.

Park in the school to the left of the park and you'll be right at hole one on your right. Alternatively park in the park and walk back up the drive to hole. 1. But you'll end behind the school so it's more convenient to park there.

this course is sweet! if in warsaw it's worth the time to throw..nice local coarse!
