It's an elementary disc golf course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 30, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

It's really great that the school has a disc golf course. With the width of the fairways, I'm guessing that the kids all can throw 200' laser straight shots.

This looks like a course that was designed to follow an old path and the electical service rightaway. However, paths are all narrow and have odd turns, and having electical poles and high voltage wire in the middle of the fairway don't allow great throws.

Cons:

No tee pads.
Several fairways that neck down to 10'-15' wide in multiple places.
Signage is temporary.
I never found holes 1 and 2.
All baskets are Discatcher practice baskets.

Other Thoughts:

The course has definite potential. There's land to use. Installing tee pads (pavers, concrete, etc.) is easy to do and could be done piecemeal. Signs are relatively cheap, and the students could do them, including one that shows the location of hole #1.

Prune back some of the brush, and cut down some of the trees to widen the fairways (but not all of them!).

A good course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 9, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice mix of forest and field. Just off highway 30. Don't let one exagerated negative review deter you from playing this nice 9 hole course.

Cons:

First and last holes might require some disk searching unless you're an ace.

Other Thoughts:

Thanks to those who built and maintain this course!

Vermont Folks Have Got To Be The Most Honest People I've Ever Heard Of ! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 5, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Newbrook Elementary School has a disc golf course that plays around it's school. The course starts off to the left side of the school as you walk by. That's important information to know, and as I didn't have it, I had a slightly more difficult time finding the beginning of this course.

The courses has the same cheap temporary Discatcher Sport Target Model as ever other course in this state. Did the whole state of Vermont get a special deal on buying Cheap Discatcher Sport Target model baskets? No one else in the entire country uses these baskets and Vermont loves them!

The tee signs are temporary laminated signs stuck on small poles. There lots of next tee signs. They're all kinda fun because they all say "Next Tee" twice, the second time it's written upside down. I think maybe the students at Newbrook Elementary all might suffer from some rare type of dxylexia?

There are only natural tee pads although some have been outlined with small logs. Some paths to the holes or next tees have also been lined with small logs.

Actually, the entire course has this temporary feel to it. It's like an Australian Aboriginie course in Mathew Quigley, you may very well wake up one morning and find that they've moved the whole course to another elementary school. Maybe gotten a better offer? Maybe there's more water at the other school? Better looking teachers?

Cons:

# 2 tee sign says 283 ft. When I looked, all I saw was a rickety assesd looking baseball field. Looked like something out of the 1930's.

# 6 is way longer than the listed 167'. But that's what happens when your baskets are portable, just put em where you want. This would be a great course for a tourney. After you finish with the hole, move the basket back into the brush 25 feet back for the group behind you!

# 8 had a long walkout down a pleasant path to get to the next tee.

Other Thoughts:

These brand new cheap baskets are all just sitting here unattached. None of them are chained down or even staked. In every part of the country I've been, these baskets (although cheaply built) would end up in someone's backyard as a personal putting practice basket. Heck, I'm so impressed with the honesty of the Vermont folks that I think I'll quit locking my car when I'm playing and then I won't have to carry my car keys, I'll just leave those in the ignition. And I don't have to carry my wallet with all that heavy money in it. I'll just leave it on the front seat next to my I-Pad. Isn't Vermont a great state?

Technical course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 1, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

It's flat technical par 27 course that you can grab one quick round for less than 45 minutes.

Plenty parkings.

Cons:

No public bathrooms.
No "super" long distance holes.
When there's school sports in play, you will need to shoot alternate path from Tee #2.

Other Thoughts:

Nice short course to stop by if you are traveling on Route 30 heading north.

Hole #6 is a personal favorite of mine that I started to design this hole to blend with other holes.
