Pros:
This is a typical park setting course. Mowed grass throughout, with some typical Florida scrubs around a pond, and mature trees and palm trees scattered about the rest of the course.
The course is rarely busy, and lends itself to a great practice venue.
Baskets are older...Century or DGA looking to me, but serviceable.
Most holes are mostly wide open with maybe a few trees to navigate around, but nothing too difficult. And the length averages probably 240 from the short pads, and 280 from the pro pads, although there are a few longer holes (350+).
There is an OB fence that runs the full perimeter of the park (which is basically a huge square shape). That fence is the course's best defensive obstacle to overcome. For RHBH throwers it will come into play if you turn a disc over too much. A mild hyzer is the preferred shot on the majority of holes. A few require an anny which brings the fence into play...these holes are fun and challenging.
A decent sized pond comes into play on about three holes that run around the perimeter of it. One of these holes requires a short to medium carry over it. Beginners might struggle with this hole, but advanced players wont have any issues if they throw a good shot.
The flow is good...the first hole is by the first fence opening, not at the end of the cul-de-sac, and the course goes out around the perimeter of the park and hole nine finishes back near hole one pad.
Some caution is needed if there are lots of players teeing off on different holes, but its not that tight, and its rarely busy.
Cons:
I dislike the carpet teepads. If they were concrete this course would be so much better.
No restrooms on site. Gas stations down the road, but it still sucks.
Playground in the middle of the park, so watch out for pedestrians who often have no idea what disc golf is, and wander into the throwing lanes.
Other Thoughts:
Leagues every Thursday at 5:30 pm. Very welcoming group of all abilities. Even saw a few females. Judging by the league sheet on the board there are some very good players with averages in the -10 and -11 range!
Lots of birdies to be had on this course, but playing bogey free is the real challenge, as there are 2-3 tough holes.
I've played a lot of rounds here, and use it for practice. Its fun!
