Pros:

I came here with my wife because it's close to a lake house in Syracuse, IN. We played 8 of 9 baskets. We didn't see others playing. It gets a .5 because the baskets are in good condition because no one plays this course.

Cons:

This course is poorly designed, if there is a design. You play basket to basket. No course map. No Tees. No par markers, but I would give them all a par 3. Baskets are movable, and I think they get moved. It feels like someone just put 9 baskets randomly in a small area with few trees. Basket 9 was in a parking area with cars parked around it. Basket 2 has a house in it...so you might want to play from somewhere that is not basket 1. Basket 4 has a broken down truck in it, which has a window that would break if you hit it with a driver.

Other Thoughts:

We tried to make the most of this course by spending some time putting and different shots. If you want a place to be by yourself and practice putting, this is your place. If you want to compete with your friends, don't come here.

Subpar but decent 2+ years

Pros:

9 Instep baskets that created moderate variety where placed. A few trees, buildings, and roads as obstacles. Baskets teach you how to accurately putt. Easy to save par.

Very peaceful course. Minimal traffic and very little noise. "Very pretty course." ~my girlfriend

Course plays basket to basket which can create variety, especially if you play it backwards. Course is slightly more interesting if played backwards.

Very good use of space.

Not many courses in the area. Not too difficult to get to but you will need directions.

Cons:

Portable Instep baskets (that are used as permanent baskets). Not very grippy but teach you how to accurately putt.

Only one designated throw spot for entire course (hole 1). The remainder of the course is basket to basket. I spent much time looking for baskets and throw spots. Only found 1 tee.

No map on site (I will make one when home from vacation).

Hard to navigate if you do not know the course. Good luck if you are not using a map. No labels on holes / throw spot for hole 1.

Course is mostly open with exception of a few holes.

Very eerie course (see course name).

Course is out of the way to get to.

Other Thoughts:

I played this course because it is 15 minutes from my lake house. I would not recommend traveling to play it unless you are in the area. With a map and knowledge of a course it would be a decent play at best but it is not a challenging course.

If this course was used more, grass on the throw spots would be worn away to dirt which would be more visible. Signs or taller markers would help in the meantime.

If it has set throw spots (2 per hole), signs, and better baskets, it would be a 2.5 out of 5 at best. This course has a ton of room per improvement and is a 9 basket course at the most.

I want to give it a 1.25 since it's better than a 1 and it is passable as a course but without designated tees (that were easy to find) I did not want to give it a 1.5. Since there are baskets, and a layout with obstacles and variety, I will give it a passable grade.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed this course since it was peaceful but a more experienced (and picky) player might not enjoy the course.

This course has a ton of room for improvement and I will definitely play this course again now that I know where baskets are. If I find the play has improved, I will update my review.
