I had fun but safety issues abound 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Nice signage with all the info you need and a color graphic of the hole. This course is super easy to navigate and play a round in about 11 minutes.
+Nice innova baskets
+Overall nice city park with camping, baseball fields, bathrooms, playgrounds.
+This park is absolutely great for beginners. They won't lose a disc. They will be able to score well without a big arm. They will learn to throw putters and mids off the tee and develop accuracy.
+Ace runs on every hole. I hit 2 baskets in a row.
+Some elevation. Hole 1 goes up and hole 2 goes down.
+Nice concrete tee pads.

Cons:

-Biggest con here is safety issues by far. I think you are mostly going to be playing as the only group there with few park users but you might not get so lucky. Most of the next tees are very, very close to the previous basket. The course winds it's way through the other park activities. On every hole you are throwing near something. 1,2,3,4 all play near the baseball field to the point where if it's getting used, you might not want to throw. The last few throw close to the playground.
-The course is overall very short. Hole 9 is by far the longest hole at 231.
-The course isn't super open but most holes don't force you to throw any kind of line. You can usually just go right for the ace run every time and not worry too much about what's in between.
-The challenge simply is not there for any decent player. I shot an 18 as did Derek Tonn who is the only other player to record their score on this site. It could have been 17 if one of my ace attempts went in.

Other Thoughts:

+I definitely had fun at this course. They put some money and time into it for sure. The park is simply too small/used by other activities to really host a good disc golf course. I appreciate the effort for sure.
+If you come here, be patient and take your time. I had to wait for a football team to run around the baseball field and right through holes 4 and 5.
