Decent Little Front 9, Completely Unplayable Back 9

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 11, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Rocky Fork Ranch Resort is a welcoming little RV park way off the beaten path. There are tons of activities on site, including a disc golf course that needs some serious help (mainly on the back 9).

+ For a short campground course, the amenities are pretty solid. Each hole has a newer looking, bright red basket. All holes have tee signs, and most have wooden planks outlining the natural tee box.

+ The front 9 makes great use of the landscape. Multiple holes play near/over the creek. Just about every tree on this plot of land comes into play at one point or another.

+ The course is free to play and open to the public.

+ There's a great Country Store right next to the parking lot. Beverages, ice cream, and an assortment of random items can be purchased here.

Cons:

- The entire back 9 is a huge CON. It's currently not maintained, with every hole having tall grass and thorns knee high (or basket high in some cases). Playing along an eroding ridge of death filled with rocks, holes, branches, and ticks, this is the worst stretch of holes I've played to date… And it's not close.

- The design has a bit of an identity crisis. On one hand, there is only one hole out of eighteen that is over 300 feet. This would benefit the newer player, except for the deep murky creek in play, and the death ridge on the back 9.

Other Thoughts:

If you come out to play at RFRR, plan on sticking to the front 9. Unless a significant cleanup project is in the works, the back 9 is dangerous and unplayable.
