Good campus course with plenty of distance

Pros:
Nice layout using available space on this HS campus, yet near lighting for night play.
Brand new DD Veteran baskets in place and installed very well.
Concrete tee pads on sidewalks or pavers.

Cons:
Tee signs are in place on all holes except #6 and #7, no actual tee pads, so use the UDISC app for locations of short and long tees.
Some pavement (bball courts, sidewalks, parking lots) does come into play.
Cannot be used during school hours or with outside activities nearby.

**UPDATE 11/22** Jeremy entered a contest by Dynamic Discs and won 9 new permanent baskets. Those have been installed in this layout, which is very similar to the original "Nightime" layout.
The 3 differences are: #6 tees just past #5 basket and goes to the basket near the softball field. #7 tees next to the softball field and plays to the basket between the tennis courts and batting cage. Walk across the 4 tennis courts to #8 tee (at the bottom of the hill), it plays up the sidewalk to behind the football signage.
For the Long tees, most play to the same baskets as the shorts, except #5 plays to #6 basket, cross the parking lot and #6 plays to #5 basket.
Full disclosure here, this is the HS were my kids were for 4 years and I spent plenty of time there helping with their band activities. I was excited to see a quality course put in so near my house. I helped Jeremy with maintenance on the course.
He did a great job laying out 9 quality holes using available space on the campus, all holes have grass greens and concrete tees on sidewalks and parking lots, except #8.
There is a chance of hitting pavement on about 5 of the holes, so pick your disc carefully.
Jeremy has used the course for his gym glasses, so he is introducing new players to the game. They play one of two 4 hole loops during their class.
This course is at least 20 mins to the next nearest course, so it is very convenient in this part of the county. I have dropped by several times after work to play, or just get in putting practice.

Nice intermediate, urbanish 9-hole track 2+ years drive by

Pros:
Rolesville HS "Nighttime" is a nice 9-hole "urban golf" track winding through the heart of the campus. Important to note upfront: this course is only playable on weekends when no school activities are going on. Pedestrians will be all over the course during school hours or activities, so you wouldn't be able to play it even if you tried.
+ There are a couple of layouts for this "Nighttime" course, which gets it's name because it's on a lit campus and there are Christmas lights on some of the baskets, making it playable after dark.
+ With the various layouts, this course is fun and challenging for Rec to Intermediate players...and even Advanced if you play strict OB rules (e.g. counting certain sidewalks, roads, or other areas as OB). Lots of risk/reward elements if you play strict OB.
+ The UDisc course map is fantastic. Follow that to get exact tee and basket locations. If you feel that the course is too long or too short for your game, adjust the tees or play it as a safari course. I recommend using the concrete/pavement OB rules to make it challenging and bring in the risk/reward element, but if you need to adjust the difficulty on that too, there's nothing stopping you. Lots of options on this course to tailor it to your skill level.
+ Great use of guardian trees and man-made structures as obstacles and parking lots and sidewalks as "rivers" and "lakes." The course is very open, but these obstacles bring the difficulty and fun levels way up.
+ The tee areas are all sidewalks or pavement, so no issues at all.
+ Good variety of distance and difficulty from hole to hole. This may be a temp or seasonal course, but a lot of thought went in to it and it's an enjoyable track.
+ Unlike the "Wooden Pond" layout, which winds through the woods behind the school, there is no underbrush or disc-stealing mess to worry about. This is urban disc golf. (Comparable to the Downtown Urban Open, but not on that scale or nearly as high up the fun meter.)

The course designers did a fantastic job with the space they were allowed to use. I'm frankly shocked that they got to put baskets so close to buildings and high foot traffic areas. (That's not a con for me as you're only supposed to play the course when people aren't around.) I do hope people who play it will be respectful of the property, be realistic with their skill level and move further away from buildings or shorten up holes if need be to avoid hitting windows.
- The baskets are a hodgepodge of hand-me-down's. I didn't have a problem with them. They add character to the course and I'm glad they're scraping things together to build a course. Just don't go here expecting high-quality, new baskets.
- If you don't want your discs scratched and scuffed up, you better not go OB at all. The sidewalks and pavement will scuff up your discs.
- On a couple holes, you could go OB over a locked fence (near baseball or football fields). Say bye bye to those discs.

Other Thoughts:
This is a nice 9-hole course. You now have three 9-hole tracks in the Wake Forest/Rolesville/Louisburg area (Southeastern, which is private, Rolesville HS -- either the Nighttime or Wooden Pond course, whichever is set up -- and River Bend). Of the four courses, I would say Rolesville HS Nighttime is at the top my list. It's challenging, fun, and unlike those other three, little risk of losing discs. Go try it out!
