Around the baseball diamond we go! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 25, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This 9 hole course plays around 4 baseball fields in a clockwise direction. There's a little bit of variety in how the holes play, but given the layout, most shots do end up bending around to the right.

+ The park is maintained well. Equipment is in passable condition, the grass is mowed, trash appears to be picked up.

+ Quick 9 holes.

+ Beginner friendly.

Cons:

- All but three or so holes play over a walking path. Yikes.

- Very monotonous with nothing to really "wow" or challenge the player.

- I wish this course would start with hole #9, rather than #1. #9 starts where #8 ends, which is right by the parking lot. #1 is a ways away from the parking lot. It's awkward to play away from the parking lot on #9 just to have to walk back.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, a pretty "meh" course. As previous reviewers have said, it's a good one to bag. It's a good one for beginners. I think that's where the complements pretty much end. Don't have high hopes coming here.

Beginner Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 7, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Great place to practice putting and mid range and good for introducing the game. Hole 7 lets you throw, and 9 is kind of fun too.

Cons:

Most of the holes are along a paved walking path, and/or very near ball fields. I had to wait several times for walkers, and I imagine beginners may end up throwing into the fields.

Other Thoughts:

This course may have been designed by someone who had never played before, or a lefty with a sense of humor.

This one is for the course baggers. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 27, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The course has 9 baskets and 9 tee signs. There are a few decent holes, hole 6 being the best hole on the course, hole 5 and 9 are kind of fun.

Course probably doesn't see a lot of traffic so you should be able to play a quick round.

A decent amount of different distances ranging from ~165 to ~380 feet, though most are 250' and under.

Grass was nicely mowed, but the rough can get pretty thick if you go left on 2,3,4, or 5.

If you are in town and bagging this course you can also bag King Park.

Cons:

The big con for this course is that it follows a walking path around the park. You not only tee off from the path but often your disc will fly down the path. This means that if anyone is using the path you will have to wait or risk hitting them. I don't know how much use this park gets but it isn't a very good design.

Speaking of course design, many of these holes are pretty boring. Hole 1, 2, and 8 are just ~180 foot hyzers, hole 9 is a 250 foot hyzer.

Other Thoughts:

This course is an quick and easy play if you want to add to your course count. This course is not a course to go out of your way to play if you are looking for a good disc golf experience. I don't see myself ever playing another round here. If I was in Milton with time to kill I would go to King Park first, or if you are in the area and have more time you would be better off going to Riverside Park in Janesville.

I do think this course could be improved if they were willing to revise the course design and add in proper tee pads.

For a rating I give this course a 1.5, and that is being a little generous. If you live in the area and a beginner this would be a fine course to learn on.
