Junior Varsity College Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 18, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

+8 nice baskets. It appears that hole 1 has been missing for some time since they constructed a new parking lot where it used to be. They could add a hole between 7 and 8 and re-number the holes. That would improve the course and make it 9 again.
+Signs with basic information. Navigation is reasonably easy. Longish walks between 7 and 8 and 8 to 9. Just follow your way around the swampy pond.
+More trees than a lot of SE Wyoming has. They are used reasonably well on a few holes to provide some challenge.
+Decent course for a beginning college student. Overall on the shorter and easier side.
+A few possible ace runs.
+Could lose a disc here but not likely.

Cons:

-hole 1 has been missing for awhile.
-Fairy flat.
-Missing opportunity to add a potentially great hole between 7 and 8. Could be a nice tunnel shot.
-Signage could be updated.
-Natural tees with no marking for where to throw.
-Not quite wooded enough to challenge me.
-Generally pretty low fun factor. I was content getting back in the car after a quick round. Little motivation to play another round or even throw a second tee shot on any hole.
-Hole 8 which is the longest and most challenging throws along a road. It is gravel and probably not well used but it is a road.
-Hole 9 is a dud of a closing hole. Straight, short, and open.

Other Thoughts:

-The course layout had little thought put into it. The land isn't ideal for disc golf but i've seen worse. The fact that they haven't done anything with hole 1 in over a year is also telling of their attention to disc golf.
-Easy course to bag. Not really worth stopping by otherwise. Cheyenne is no disc golf Mecca and there is still no good reason to stop here.

Currently 8 Hole College Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 13, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

A decent number of trees to avoid and some elevation change to deal with

Most holes in the 230'-330' range

Course loops back to starting area

Mowed grass for the most part

Low chance of losing a disc

Nice tee signs

Plays fairly quick

Cons:

Only 8 holes on day played

Design of hole 8 is questionable - plays much longer and tougher than the other holes

A couple of fairly long walks between holes

A few holes are mostly wide open

Other Thoughts:

Hole 1 seems to have been replaced by a brand new shiny black parking lot

Room to add a hole between 7 and 8 - I would shorten 8 to make it match the rest of the course also

Holes aren't super challenging, but there is enough difficulty to make it interesting, especially if the normal Wyoming breeze is blowing

Decent for a quick round 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 18, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

So convenient if you're by the school. Right off the road and easy to search.

Course is fairly easy to navigate and signage is great!

Good use of the lake and of the available trees.

The angle of the course with the usual direction of SE Wyoming wind will test your shot variety.

Cons:

Pretty short course. That's not bad, but some are pretty wide open.

9 holes. It's only a con because you can see all the space that could be used to turn this into a pretty good 18.

The major lake hole could be broken up into two hard holes instead of one REALLY hard hole that doens't fit with the rest of the course. You go from family friendly to super hard hole in no time.

Other Thoughts:

This is super close to the dorms, and I hope the students take full advantage of this.
