Good Casual Throw 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 19, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Nice new baskets, chains catch well
-Nice park in general
-Each hole is marked by a number stake
-Plenty of trees to hit, making some obstacles to go through and around

Cons:

-Very little imagination in the design of the course
-Most holes are very short requiring a straight shot down the middle of the trees.
-No signage, though the hole length is so short most of the time common sense will allow you to know where to throw
-No garbages on the course. Having 1 every 3 holes would help keep the course clean.
-natural pads with, with small markers indicating where they are.

Other Thoughts:

-The course as a whole is not much more than a standard straight throw to a fairly close basket.
-The course is marked as private which it very well could be, however, i did not see any private property signs anywhere on the grounds.
-The designer left a lot of ground unused that could have easily made this course longer and much better for an intermediate player.
-I recommend making your own holes up and shoot for baskets with a bit more distance. We did this and were considerably more satisfied with our experience. The course would definitely gain .5-1 point rating boost by just utilizing more of the open space.
-As the course sits now, it is the same caliber as South Park in hutchinson in my opinion. With some redesign, this course would be a better throw than South Park. Worth playing if grounded in Hutchinson and choosing between this and South Park.

Pleasant Little Campground 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 26, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Nice baskets- Discatchers- are numbered.
-Tees are marked and somebody even shoveled them before I played
-It's only 4 blocks from my parents house
-A few chances at ace runs
-Some blind holes
-A good variation in hole distance and type. Some turned right, more turned left.
-Plays through a campground that is largely unused except a weekend or two in the summer.
-Campground has large mature trees and a bathroom or two for obstacles
-Navigation is easy once you learn where the couple of blind baskets are.
-Probably won't lose a disc here

Cons:

-Could throw a disc on top of bathroom building (we did, used a picnic table to get it down)
-Natural tees.
-Can't be played a few times during the summer when the campground is packed with 7th day adventists.
-Overall hole length is relatively short, not super challenging. Course is relatively flat.

Other Thoughts:

-This is a similar course to the other one in town, South Park. It would be very nice if the area were to get a nice 18 hole. The local club is looking at creating one of those in nearby county and state parks.
-I grew up near this school and at times they weren't appreciative of visitors. There are no signs but don't be too surprised if somebody asks you what you are doing on the course. This is a church campground course so be on your best behavior. There are a few homes bordering the course so all the more reason to behave so that this course can be enjoyed by all.
