Fun round of 3 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 21, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

-great tee signs
-3 tee pad options at each hole
-hole 1 provides a couple tree obstacles
-great for kids
-lush green grass throughout park
-quiet, pretty setting
-not busy
-parking lot right there

Cons:

-hole 2 and 3 are pretty much wide
-takes a minute to locate hole 1
-possible to see other park users with dogs or picnics in the fairways

Other Thoughts:

Shadduck park is a nice beginner course, especially for kids! Each tee location has an A, B and C tee pad (wooden board) to choose from. One could play 3 times through and have 9 different shots, however I certainly wouldn't call it a nice hole course like one of the other parks across town. My kids enjoyed the quick round and afterwards they played in the toys for a while- it was a nice stop on our road trip and I recommend it for the new players or kids 3 and up.

Regarding the baskets- it's true, they are not the most beautiful things out there. However, they do match the ones in the other small coeur d'alene courses, but these are actually better! They are in good shape, have hole number on top, and discs don't fall through the bottom of the cage like at the other parks.

The Little Shadduck Practice Course Has Really Ugly Baskets! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 23, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Shadduck Park sits in a fairly new residential development so everything is new. The park has a children's play area, a picnic area and a tether ball stand. The rest of the park consists of a blanket of thick, plush lush grass.

The little course starts next to the play area and then plays in a circle. It's readily apparent that the entire budget for this course was eaten up by the tee signs. They are totally awesome and give more than enough information. But there are no tee pads, just grass. And the baskets are homemade, single chain, heavy duty and mostly ugly. They are so ugly, the teen vandal crews won't even touch them. They look like they came from the set of Mad Max or Waterworld, definitely something Apocalyptic.

The three mostly open holes are 255', 205' and 235'. There's not much challenge or variety or anything else here. The grass is very green and lush

Cons:

Shadduck is a course filled with cons.

Only three holes.
Horrific baskets.
No tee pads.
No challenge.
Flat and open.
No map.
No fun.

Other Thoughts:

I'm amazed that someone got permission from this neighborhood to install these unsightly baskets. The park and the surrounding community are upscale and newly minted. The good news is these baskets will be never be vandalized or bent to hell. They're too heavy duty to die. To ugly to marry. The bad news is this lovely park in this lovely neighborhood is stuck with them. Honestly, if I were on the community council here, I would vote to abolish them and I have a "I'd rather be disc golfing" license plate frame.
