Pros:
This course provides a great amount of variety and requires a handful of shots. It plays through 3 sets of woods, open fields, and has great elevation. With its location to Lake Michigan the winds and climate can provide a good challenge. Multiple pin positions on 6 holes give the course a nice change for regulars. A trail runs through the course that will take you to the beach after a hot summer round.
Cons:
This course can be very windy because of it's on the shore of Lake Michigan. Lack of maps and directional arrows make it very easy to get lost the first time you are there. There are OBs on all but 3 holes which can be humbling. Be aware of pedestrians on the many paths that cross the course. Constant vandalism devalues the course.
Other Thoughts:
This is my "home" course and I couldn't be happier. I played this course right after the baskets went up, and have watched it grow and change into what it is today. I play this course as much as I can, and it always provides a good challenge. I feel that Shore Acres DGC and Fallasburg in Lowell are some of the best in the Grand Rapids/West Michigan area. This course is also great for glow rounds, and summer rounds with its location to the beach.
