Pros:

Sunriver SHARC DGC is located in Sunriver, Oregon. This resort along with the disc golf course offers ball golf, swimming and much more. This 9 hole disc golf course is very short and you wont need much more than a mid range. Course is complete with Mach 5 baskets and concrete or turf tee pads(I cant really remember).

Hole #2 is the longest hole here that stretches almost 250 feet. This is my favorite hole and for a lot of good players this would be theirs too.

Some holes I found myself jump putting from the tee pad. Course is very simple as it plays around a dirt mound with a tubing slide. Course map is not very much needed but take one if you think you will.

This course plays around a huge dirt mound and ends on the other side of the mound. They had all the right amenities on this course they could have just expanded because it cracked me up when I saw the first 80 foot hole.

If you don't have any discs with you or have never played, you can rent discs. I would assume this course is not playable at some times during the winter as there is a huge tubing/waterslide running right through the middle.

If you are looking for more of a challenge then head up the road to Sisters Oregon where you will find some other fun disc golf courses.

Cons:

Although this course is for beginners it was still fun to try and ace some of the holes since they were so short. I played this course when I was staying at the resort and if you were not I would recommend Hyper Pines or Pine Nursery.

This course looked fairly new when I played it but does not offer much of a challenge as they could have expanded into other parts of the resort to make a full length course.

Other Thoughts:

If you are in the area and just want to stop to take a break this course would be ok if you wanted to practice some putter up shots. Hyzer Pines in Sisters, Oregon is down the road a little bit and has some more fun and technical holes.

This course is probably just the right course for beginners as it provides some short and easy holes. Every disc golf course in Eastern Oregon looks very much alike with pine trees and dust. If you are in the resort I would check it out as it offers some fun putter shots.

Play it Safari Style 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 2, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Short 9 hole course. First 2 holes are fun, then there are many holes that are par 2's under 100 ft. I decided after my first play through to make some safari holes. Here's what I did (all par 3's):
1. Play as is
2. Play as is
3. Play to hole 6 basket
4. Play hole 7 as is
5. Play to hole 9 basket

Cons:

Super short holes with little to no obstacles make holes 3-6 basically putting practice.

short and simple 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 14, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Worth playing if you're already in Sunriver.

Cons:

I wouldn't go out of my way to try the course, but if you're already at the resort, give it a try.

Other Thoughts:

The first two holes are much better than the rest. The others are very short drives-almost long putts.

Fun Resort Pitch and Putt 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 8, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-This course is located at the Sunriver Recreation Center. It is the perfect length for kids or beginners staying at the Sunriver Resort, with no holes over 250 feet and most in the 80-120 foot range. It plays around the Winter Tubing Hill area, which adds the elevation factor.

-If you're new to the game, you may rent discs for $5 in the Recreation Center.

-Hole #2 is easily my favorite. It's 255', straight down one of the tubing runs to an elevated basket. It requires a precise midrange shot. The only other hole that presents somewhat of a challenge is #7, a blind putter shot over a corner of the hill.

-Nice, new Mach 5 baskets.

Cons:

-This course is simply too short to provide much in the way of challenge. There are 7 gimme birdies and 2 slightly tricky shots. But, of course, this place is designed for beginners, not experienced disc golfers. Still, It's a great upshot practice area if you make up some safari holes.

-A touch extra power on the downhill, hole #2 will put you right in the picnic shelter.

-The tee pads were two rubber mats with a 1 foot gap in between. This makes for some awkward run ups. Then again, you shouldn't need to take a run up on more than a couple holes.

Other Thoughts:

-If you're staying in Sunriver, I'd definitely be taking advantage of this course. It's just a 10-15 minute bike ride from the main resort complex. Any intermediate or advanced player should only need a putter and a midrange to play the regular course, but there are some fun safari hole opportunities. However, if you're looking for more of a challenge I'd recommend Hyzer Pines in Sisters or Pine Nursery in Bend.

-Hole 6 would have to be the easiest hole I've ever played. 75 feet, no obstacles, and a steep hill/backstop behind the basket. I'd bet that Ricky would ace this hole within five tries.

-Several small Ponderosa pines have been planted on holes 4-7. They offer little challenge now, as they do not exceed 10 or 15 feet in height.

-I have never played a course quite this short and am not sure exactly how to score it. It's a great course for what it is, but too short to challenge anyone other than a beginner. The entire course is the length of Hole 2E at Milo.

Short, good introduction and putting practice 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 28, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great beginner course, especially for kids because it's extremely short and not a lot of lost-disc opportunity (although...it's possible). Great points made by last reviewer - for such a tiny short course it really gives good variety of throws including blind shots.

If you happen to be staying in Sunriver it's hard to complain that you can walk/bike to the course, finish 2-3 rounds and back to your cabin in an hour. Gave me the opportunity to get lots of putt and midrange practice while on vacation with the whole family - I played rounds both with and without them. Prior years I've had to fit a 1/2-day "off" in the family schedule to drive to Bend.

Cons:

Shortest course I have ever played and it was laughable at first. I paced one hole out at 75' and I think one other is shorter. The longest is a fun top-of-the-hill to a raised tee and I'd guess it's 250'. 2 holes are blind which is not ideal for a beginner course but do make a nice challenge for those who play more courses and find themselves here.

No signs at all. Not really needed since you can easily find the next hole but still, no signs. Course can attract globs of players with no clue and clog the course. That's the price to pay for encouraging novice players to start their career.

Other Thoughts:

I changed my rating from a 2.5 to 3 because once you accept the course for it's exact design - a very nice introductory course, the bulk of the "cons" may even become "pros". The course shouldn't be penalized for being easy, it deserves kudos for a pleasant and accessible introduction to disc golf AND an easy getaway for veterans that just really need their fix and can't get to Bend or farther out (WHY aren't there more courses in this region!? BLOWS me away!!)

Great Beginner Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 8, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Short but technical. An excellent intro to disc golf for kids or grown ups who haven't played much. Fun for even advanced players. The 3 holes across the street are more technical that the others and even more fun.

For what it's designed for, it truly accomplishes the goal: many kids will play this course as their introduction to disc golf and the concepts tested: shoot up, down, hyzer, anny, etc will be difficult for them but the length of the holes, at approximately 200ft average won't overlay frustrate the beginner.

Brand new Mach V baskets. Love em.

Bathroom at tee for one are clean and pretty high level for disc golf.

In the heart of sunriver. Next step: a championship 18 hole course somewhere on this amazing terrain.

Cons:

tees have no signage, but probably in the works as its a a brand new course

Course is very short, so big time players looking to air it out might find a better opportunity to do so elsewhere.

Hole 2 and 9 might be a little dangerous if someone were to be picnicking or strolling by these baskets and someone let loose a spike hyzer. Ouch!

Other Thoughts:

What a nice surprise! In the middle of sunriver a little gem of a course with fun shots abounding. The three holes across the road are really fun. More of that type of golf would be welcome at sunriver....

I'd rate a little higher if signage were completed but as it is, a solid 3 rating for being true to its intended design and brand spankin new
