Pros:
+This is a nice piece of land right on the Platte River and Swede's Pond. There were some sand volleyball courts on the other side of the pond but otherwise, this looked to be a disc golf only property. The designers did a great job with this piece of land.
+A good amount of trees to keep things interesting. I would say that it is moderately wooded overall. The lines are all very fair but you do need some control to make sure that you get your disc where it needs to go.
+Good length variety. Some shorter, tighter shots and a few over 400 feet.
+Hole 6 is a true water hole. You can throw further right and avoid the long carry but this limits your scoring chances to a 3 or higher. Over the water and you could have a chance at a 2.
+Hole 7 has a fun raised pin with what looks to be railroad ties building a tiered structure.
+Nice innova baskets on all. I was worried when I saw the homemade practice basket.
+The course is easy to follow and loops back to the lot twice. This makes it nice if you want to play more than 9 but not two full rounds.
Cons:
-No elevation. Plays on the flood plain of the river. Course might flood during the spring but was plenty dry in August.
-Glass and other old trash everywhere. I wonder if this place used to be a dump or at least used as an informal one by locals.
-Tees- they are a large piece of drywall stuck to the ground. Hopefully just a temporary fix until they can get some concrete installed. They look good and you might even think they are concrete for a bit but they are slippery under good conditions and many of these have sandy soil on top of them and that makes them dangerous.
-The signage is better than nothing and again, I think it is temporary. It is hand drawn and rudimentary.
Other Thoughts:
+With a bit of trash/glass cleanup and finishing touches on tees and signs, this might bump up to a 3.5. They might even have enough land around to make it into an 18 holer.
+This course had a high fun factor for me. It was more challenging and complex than most 9 hole courses. Great design.
+This course is challenging enough for most but not too hard for beginners. They might just want to take it easy on hole 6.
+Worth a stop just off I-80. I will stop again.
