Pros:

- good quality baskets
- informative tee signs
- good quality paver tee pads
- great use of the terrain and the elevation
- good variety of distances, but most shots are around 275 to 300 feet
- navigation for the most part is pretty easy
- absolutely beautiful scenery
- a very unique experience

Cons:

- a couple missing tee signs
- a few spots could use more navigation signs
- very rough terrain, very steep in spots
- tee pads are slightly short

Other Thoughts:

Very unique mountain desert course. Be ready for a hike and be careful on the hike down from hole 18.

New Top Ten! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 29, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Location, Location, Location! As I state in most of my reviews, the beauty of the natural setting plays big. This is amazing! There are only about three or four states in the US that even have this type of setting, much less have a quality disc golf course cleverly and minimally built into the natural beauty.

- Great signage. Intuitive to play.
- Nice tee pads for a spartan natural landscape.
- Clever pin and tee placements.
- Not too long or too technical, but the terrain, wind, and natural obstacles will determine your fate.
- Most holes are not blind (which takes away an excuse for most of us!)
- Great exercise if you play all 18 holes
- Incredible setting
- Fabulous views from the last several holes
- Very challenging and fun course, not due to length, but accuracy and challenge of the terrain.
- Signature holes on 15 and 18 especially.
- In the middle of nowhere, but there is a bathroom and trash receptacle with plenty of parking.

Cons:

- Not many Cons at all
- You might scrape your undersides if you do not have a high clearance vehicle to get in.
- Campers near the 18th hole fairway
- It would be nice to have a marked pathway from the 18th tee to the 18th basket
- The road in was pretty rough, but once they complete the construction on what look like hotels, it will be vastly improved.

Other Thoughts:

If you can imagine Disneyland having a disc golf course at their Splash Mountain area, this is what they would model it after! This is no city park, but natural Utah redstone canyon beauty! Kudos to the designers and those who carted the materials for tee pads, baskets, and signage without diminishing the beauty of the area. After each hole I was eager to see what was next. Did I mention that it was FUN! While not a World Class bomber course, it is a new US top ten for me. I recommend this course for anyone passing by on I-15 or visiting the National and State parks in the region.

Rugged, Craggy, Wonderful Disc Golf. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 17, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

If you've ever played a hilly course, this is hillier, I promise. Basket locations are very well done, often introducing extreme punishments for being greedy, or just being hard to pinpoint to start with even on the short holes (Junipers and cliffs, everywhere!).

The course seems like it is a slam dunk for both advanced and beginner players, as it is really much more about strategy and touch than raw distance for the most part. Having a blast playing it, would recommend to just about anyone!

Cons:

...except maybe those who are looking for more of a park experience. In similar fashion to the other Cedar City courses, this is far from a "take out the cart and go for a stroll" kind of course. The terrain is up, down and around, and I've yet to play the back 9 without having to do some actual rock climbing to get to or from my lie.

I wouldn't recommend the course for children, or if you have any sort of medical issues that would keep you from full-on hiking in a mountainous desert... Because that's exactly what you'll be doing.

The only other con is hole 7. There's no getting around it, it's short. Very short. With nothing in the way. It's short and clear enough that if you have a 100' jump putt, it's probably time to practice it.

And finally, as is the case with all the out-in-the-country places near a city, there is definitely an issue with kids coming out and partying at night, and hence some trash and graffiti issues. They are far from extreme, but it would go a long way if people could not only carry out what they pack in, but maybe even pick up some bottles and cans as they play!

Other Thoughts:

Bring water! Don't be afraid to lay up, especially when it looks like you might end up 300 feet down a canyon if you don't (because you will)!
