It's... fine drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Tee placement is excellent

Cons:

-Very short/tight -not well maintained

Other Thoughts:

Very fast course, I only played the front nine. Grass and weeds were a little over ankle high. There were 8-10 homeless people sleeping, which didn't bother me, but might bother others.

Simple, Beginner Friendly Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 27, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-New Baskets (as of 2017). Innova DISCatchers.

-Course is pretty straight forward. Not hard to figure out where to go next, and I noticed that there is some black tape on the bottom of each basket that points you to the next tee pad, so good job by the designer(s) on that one. The tee signs are pretty well designed, although some of the distances listed are a little off with what the DGCR app says they are.

-Average sized concrete tee pads. Could have been just a hair longer for my taste, but overall, pretty good sized. For most of the tee shots, a lot of players won't necessarily need the whole tee pad for an approach, so they work just fine.

-The park itself is pretty nice. Has some playground equipment, a picnic shelter, basketball courts, and a walking trail. It also looked really clean and the grass was not tall at all.

-Course is pretty short in terms of distance, so if you're looking for a fairly quick round, this one will do the trick. Very walk-able as well, with not a lot of elevation change. And not hard to find any errant tee shots. Trees are scattered here and there, sometimes making you have to hit a line, but overall, the course is fairly wide open.

-Course is beginner friendly. Lots of holes are under 300 ft and don't have a lot of obstacles, so newer players can have some birdie looks. Advanced players can use this course as a warm-up or practice course to try different shots/different discs.

Cons:

-Shot variation. A lot of the course seems to repeat itself every 3 or 4 holes. You get a wide open, putter or mid-range shot, then something where you need to hit an easy line around/near some trees, then a hole with a little more distance (between 300-350), and so on. There is one hole that's over 400 feet, but the rest should be birdie-city for advanced players and above. There is some elevation chance on a few holes, but nothing crazy.

-Back-to-back tee pads. There are three sets of holes whose tee pads are either right next to each other, or are in line with each other. Could cause some crowding, especially if there are multiple people out there playing at the same time. The tee signs are facing the direction of the basket, so it's easy to figure out what tee pad goes to what hole.

-Lack of Exciting/Signature Holes. Most of the holes on this course don't have that "wow" or "cool" factor of some other courses I've played. Part of that is that park itself is nice, but nothing special, and most of the holes are pretty simple. No mandos, creeks, narrow tunnels to hit, no par 4's, etc.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, the course is good for beginners, but a little bland on excitement for advanced to pro level players. You could run a smaller tournament here, but nothing huge since a few baskets would be in the way for other holes.

If I had to name a signature hole, Hole 4 is around 350 feet, throwing down into a valley, and then back up the other side a little bit, where the basket is between two large trees. You can throw a RHBH turnover/straight drive or if you've got the power, the RHBH forehand line is more wide open.

Better than the old course, but not amazing 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 1, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Innova 28-Chain Discatchers
Concrete Tees
Situated in a park so maintenance of the course will always be good
Did I say ACE RUNS?

Cons:

Course is very wide open so shot shaping is not really required
Not the best part of town
Pros may not see this course as very difficult
Teepads that are back-to-back could cause congestion

Other Thoughts:

Overall this is a decent park-style course. The course is much shorter than the old course that it replaced, so it will offer a nice challenge for beginners and amateurs alike. MPO players will be able to shoot in the low 40s with ease and many aces will be hit. If the course did not have new concrete tees and Discatchers, then I would only rate it a 2.0 course. Enjoy your casual rounds and ace runs.
