Amazing course! Northern gem! 2+ years drive by

Pros:

I really don't know where to start. This course is really amazing from the first to the last of its 20 holes! They have white stakes to mark OB, wooded fairways that are fair and don't make you depend on luck. Nice teepads, good signeage and even a pretty spectacular view over a typical Finnish landscape with a lake on hole 16 (I think - see the picture I uploaded). I just think all of the course is great so I'll just put in a short course description in here. The course starts off pretty flat with some great change in hole shapes, from straight to backhand to sidearm holes, just an excellent variety. The par 5 5th is a beast itself but simply a great hole. Make two super mega great throws and you might get close for an eagle, but one mistake and you'll fight yourself fighting for your par. The 7th is an amazing par 4 as well! 8 is a pretty short and fair island, if you miss it the DZ is just around 10 m so even then you might save par. I like islands that don't give you a 5 or 6 very quickly. And then suddenly it starts to get pretty hilly. Some holes up and down a hillside including a triple mando which is a little bit of a mini golf hole, but it's quite well designed with the way they made the mando (also see my picture). Then the course goes on along and on top of the hill down the other side towards that big field and lake. You never leave the woods though and turn back towards the parking lot with a few more extremely well designed Par 4s.

Cons:

I'm having a pretty hard time thinking of anything bad about this course...so all I got is...
- sometimes you have to search for the basket a little, but thanks to the tee signs it's absolutely no problem, so really not that big of a con
- that Mando on hole 3...I'm not a fan if people make mandos the first tree on the side of a fairway. You can make it the 3rd tree from the fairway and still make people throw along the fairway instead of over the "road", but well...

Other Thoughts:

What amazed me the most is that I've basically been waiting for the course to become worse from hole to hole but it simply didn't. It started off great and just became better and better.

The course is really really wooded, basically every fairway is tree lined and max. 5-8 m wide. Except maybe 1 and 20, but the rest really requires great accuracy plus distance. Can't afford to just throw straight and short. Still, the fairways are fair. I can't stop saying this because on a lot of wooded courses you just need luck on a lot of holes. Not on this one. If you miss the fairway, you'll be punished by those many small Finnish trees. After playing a couple rounds on this course, you won't be afraid of any wooded hole any more ;-) I know that Discgolf goes more towards those more open courses on big tournaments to be more spectator (and media) friendly, but I'd love to see a very big event on a course like this.

It was also pretty cool to see a lot of local guys playing, even if it was just guys out with 3 discs. Even on a Sunday at 7:30 p.m. there were still people starting after each other on hole 1.

I even saw some reindeer walking by basket 8 very calmly. Just an amazing picture.

I know it's not on your standard travel route, but if you're ever in this area, make sure you make this place part of your trip. It really tests your skill and is an amazing course!
