Challenging - there are few straight lines here. Trees come into play on almost every hole, usually in the most inconvenient places. Several tight gaps off the tee. Some extremely tight lines. Almost every hole requires you to really analyze your line and disc selection - discing disc down and laying up rather than bombing is the only way to consistently play well here.

Shot selection - whether you're a lefty or a righty, you'll need a solid turnover shot and a solid hyzer shot here. I've played the course RHBH, LHBH, RHFH, and mixed and I've found no advantage.

Short game heavy - I view this as a pro, others might call it a con, but this course is all about mids and putters. Drivers are useful on the four open holes, and 17 if you play from the pro tees.

Popularity - this is not the most popular course in Jax, and as a result you will never be waiting. I've never had an issue practicing and throwing multiple discs per hole.

Signage - not great. Keep in mind, the course is a work in progress and has drastically changed in the last 6 months. Some holes have directional markers to the next tee, most do not. Few distance markings, though most of the time this doesn't affect play as I still pull out mids. After you've played once, it flows nicely.

Pads - concrete tile and carpet. Again, the course is a work in progress and the layout is not entirely set.

Scenery - it's not great. FL sandpines and palmetto bushes. Plenty of mud. The wooded section passes a couple buildings/houses with a bunch of junk outside.

Unforgiving - in the wooded section (about 9 holes) if you stray from the fairway, have fun finding your disc. The brush is dense and the fairways are narrow. The open section has tall grass and burn piles, also tough to find a disc. The front 7 and 17,18 are fine, though water comes into play on 17. If you do manage to find your disc in the brush, the second part is getting back on the fairway - there are rarely good escape routes.

Though lacking in bling, this course absolutely makes up for in difficulty. If the course was not challenging, it would be a 1-2 disc course as it currently is. On a good day, I love playing this course. On a bad day, this course makes me hate disc golf and destroys me. This is humbling considering most holes are <300 ft. This course will test your short game control and finesse. You will get better if you play this course frequently. This is a great change of pace course in Jax, and is my course of choice on the weekends to avoid crowds at other courses.

Guys have been putting a lot of work in this course recently, and I'm anxious to see what it looks like in a year or so. The layout in the back half has been different the last 3 times I've played it due to Trinity school development.

Though I do like the white course, it will soon not exist - the red course will be the only one at Trinity.

A fun and challenging course. With everything you need in a disc golf course: long drives, tunnel shots, tree course, and a lake hole.

Hard to navigate, but I like a little course adventure in wooded courses.
Can a trail/course annual clean up day be established and the Jacksonville FL disc golf community and leagues can come together and start having clean up days at this course? Then there wouldn't be any confusion on how the course plays. Bang some chains Jacksonville!

I was surprised that a second 18 hole course was put in here, as it didn't seem like there was space for the original 18. And I was right to be in a way. I'm not sure if this should count as a separate course, as it takes the nine holes of the original(white course) that are not part of the front yard and driveway of the school and combines them with nine new holes cut out of the woods on the other side of the property fence. It keeps the ending holes of the white course, which is great, including the carry of a small pond on 17. I'm just not sure this qualifies as a new course. What it should be is a complete replacement of the original.
The new nine wooded holes, frequently short but with well-defined fairways and quite a bit of variety in terms of shape. I don't think there is a straight shot here but the left and right turns come in both gradual and sharp angles. The rough is often that saw palm material that is so present in Florida so players will have to be careful but this is a solid nine and a vast improvement on what was here before.
With the exception of the road hole, the nine older holes are not bad either. Most play through an area that features scattered trees and holes offer various lines to any given basket. Tees are natural and direction in minimal but this portion of the course should play easily and quickly.

The signage. I have no idea what is going on here. The course as identified in the map is very playable but ignore all existing signs. Several of the holes have hand written signs that do correlate with the map. Others have wooden signs that have numbers that do not match any possible layout. (My guess is that they were just put there to mark that is a tee. Some holes have both. Clearly this is something that can be rectified and I'm guessing it will be in the near future. It doesn't help that maps for both layouts are on the kiosk and several holes are used by both courses. They really need to ditch the white course, have the current red be the only course on the property.

The makings of solid course here. I wouldn't go back just yet, but I'm excited to see what it is like in six months or so.
