Other Thoughts:
I was very pleasantly surprised when I stopped into Bracebridge after a wedding to toss the new course installed by the Dads of Muskoka at Verena Acres. I had a pretty hard time initially finding the course but have since added directions and coordinates as well as a DGCR profile to rectify this. The course plays through a very hilly, stream-ridden swath of Carolinian forest with MANY boardwalks, staircases and elevated "deck" teepads. It reminded me of the disc golf version of a professional-grade mini-putt course. The holes are short, but scenic and deceptively technical. The course plays quick, however the walk from 9 back to 1 takes a while. This only seems temporary as the group who installed the course have mentioned they plan to expand the course to a complete-circuit 18 holes early next year. The group, "Dads of Muskoka" were originally from BC, and you definitely feel the Pender Island vibe when you get into the heart of the course. Bring your putters, midranges, and walking shoes as you'll want to play this one a few times. Beginners will enjoy bagging their first birdies and those with more experience will apppreciate the craftmanship and ace-runs this course has to offer. I'll be back.
