Pros:
Voyagers Park is a nice city park with a mowed lawn and mature trees bordering a river. There's no rough to speak of so lost discs are unlikely. There's a photo op with large wooden sculpture of a Voyager near basket #4.
Cons:
Aside from hole #1, which actually has the feel of a disc-golf hole, the course crisscrosses an open field, playing dangerously close to playground equipment, picnic shelters, and other disc golf holes. Most of the shots are of the straight-down-the-middle variety. Navigation was difficult in light of the fact that most of the 4x4 tee markers had been uprooted and scattered about, but we did what we could to remedy that. From almost any point on the course we could see most of all of the baskets, so deciding where to head next required consulting the map on DGCR.
Other Thoughts:
The baskets are of a non-standard variety with the chain area above the basket a little taller than normal. (So why did I keep missing low.) The chains did catch well when we hit them.
We had the park to ourselves when we visited, and that's the only way I'd want to play here. If others were using the facilities, it would make throwing a little too dangerous.
We just happened to be in the area, so we decided to play a round here, but I wouldn't recommend Voyagers as a destination.
